Checking In: The ROW, NYC

Sharing my thoughts on the best central hotel to stay at in New York City!

Where? 700 8th Ave, New York, NY 10036 | Images by my babe Kat

Myself and Kat arrived in New York all bleary eyed and jet lagged, we hopped in a yellow taxi to our first hotel of the week; The Row. We were greeted by the hotel lights and knew from the moment we stepped into the hotel that we were in for a wonderful stay. Let's dive into The Row Hotel, NYC!...

"Row NYC set out to revolutionize the traditional hotel stay by cultivating a dynamic dining experience"

What does the hotel have to offer? The Row offers Times Squares first indoor food market; City Kitchen - which features seven of New York's most talked about restaurants from Dough doughnuts to ramen bowls from Kuro Obi; there really is something for everything. Oh, and the food is SO good, and I mean SO good! (even if you're not staying at The Row then you absolutely have to visit City Kitchen for lunch/food during your trip!). Not only does the hotel boast an incredible indoor food market, but it's also located just a stones throw from Times Square - the perfect location to get around Manhattan and see the sights! Oh, and if that's not enough, the hotel offers an iMac lounge, Cyc Fitness (indoor cycling) and Glam&Glo (boost workout beauty bar) and the COMFIEST beds ever!

Why The RowAs if I need to sell this hotel to you guys anymore; but my favourite factor is the price! With rooms ranging from $199-$259, I love the fact that this hotel is luxe, with simple yet stunning rooms, great amenities and access to the very heart of New York City - all for a super affordable price!

What room do I go for? We had a Superior Twin Room during our stay and it was amazing! From the COMFIEST beds ever, flat screen TV and Gloss toiletries, we had a super comfortable stay at The Row and I'd 100% book back to stay there on my next visit to NYC! The Row is the perfect mix of simple luxe, with fresh, bright decor and spacious rooms - all at super affordable prices! Don't forget to use code 'ROWDEAL' when booking for a discount and no facility fee!

The surrounding area: The hotel is on 8th avenue, pretty much directly behind Times Square - I would highly recommend this hotel if it's your first visit to New York as it's the perfect location for amazing tourist trips like the Top of the Rock, Central Park, Times Square, Flat Iron, Grand Central Station - everything is in walking distance from this hotel which is AMAZING! Located close to several subways, this hotel is also the perfect base for getting around Manhattan!

The Row is great for: The perfect location for exploring New York; located in the heart of the city! Great for first time New Yorkers; food lovers and explorers looking for an affordable stay in the Big Apple!

Have you ever stayed at The Row hotel? Is this somewhere you could see yourself staying in New York? Do you prefer to be closer to Times Square?

*A HUGE thank you to The Row for helping us to organise our stay during our trip to New York!

I’ve stayed at the ROW several times because the location is so convenient. It is a great hotel, but it is still pricy (not for NYC, but just in general)

It’s such a great location! I think the value is much better than some other places I’ve stayed in NYC, it’s definitely one of the more affordable hotels that’s for sure! 🙂 x

I stayed at Row NYC last year and unfortunately had a really bad experience. I don’t know if I’d just been spoilt as the time before when I went to NYC I’d stayed at The Knickerbocker and Langham Place, but Row NYC was the biggest disappointment for me. The room was absolutely tiny, there wasn’t enough space to put two suitcases and clothing, the bathroom was old and had pubic hairs in the bath, the – what little there was – furniture was peeling and had huge dents in it, and one day the lifts weren’t working, so we had to use the service lifts!! To me this just isn’t luxury, and I couldn’t wait to leave the place and move to the Conrad.

I did however LOVE the cafe and downstairs lobby area – super cool, and the beds were really comfy to be fair!
