Don’t Forget To Fall In Love With Yourself First

Some honest truths about why loving yourself, is actually the most valuable lesson you can learn!

Primark Valentines Day - 15

*Post in collaboration with Primark, wearing head to toe Primark.. yup, including those lush shoes!

So, here's the drill gals, I'm a HUGE lover of love, always have been, probably always will. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I enjoy loving deeply and passionately. I adore Ben (but you guys already knew that because I'm always gushing about him). But, this Valentine's month I'm not talking about boys.

I'm talking about me.

I'm talking about you.

And how loving yourself is actually the most valuable lesson you'll ever learn. Some people spend their lives searing for their soul mates, for love, but I truly believe that the most satisfying love you'll ever find, lies within you.

Don't get me wrong, we're all going to have days when we feel down on ourselves; that's natural, and things we don't like as much as we could, but then it's also important to focus on the positives. I'm not overly body confident right now, I know I could feel happier within myself, but then I love myself for other qualities. For having created a business from scratch, for being a #GIRLBOSS and buying the car of my dreams, for being able to do a job I love every day, for working with brands I could never have imagined I'd ever work with, for pushing my content boundaries, for being the best friend and girlfriend I possibly can, for putting others before myself and understanding what really matters in life.

So, this Valentine's Day, I'm calling all my girls; whether you're single or in a relationship; it's irrelevant, I want you to show yourself some love, to focus on you, YOU DO YOU BOO. It's about time we were a little kinder to ourselves and learnt to love ourselves for who we are.

It's so funny because when I shot these pictures in Paris with my boo Ellie; there I am like an absolute twat holding my love balloon (definitely don't care because I LOVE how the pictures turned out - no pun intended!), but a guy approached me and said 'Shouldn't there be a guy in your picture? Surely, that's the whole point' - to which I just kind of politely laughed off but inside I was like NO PAL, YOU'VE ACTUALLY MISSED THE POINT COMPLETELY. I didn't want to stand there doing a cute Valentine's shoot with bae (but that's totally cool if you do), I wanted to focus on self love, so I stood there like a wally and got those snaps because I knew how important this message was that I needed to share with my girls! <3

Here's to falling in love with yourself this Valentine's Day gals! <3

These pictures are so great. I love that dress and GIRRRL YOUR PINS! So much yes to everything in this post, I feel like I’ve really learnt to love myself more over the past year and even though there are things I don’t like so much – like you, I’m not feeling massively body confident at the moment (although you totally should, cause you look incredible) but I’m kind of able to see past that and just accept it. Hope you’re having the best time in NYC!

Oh I love this post so so so much! Thank you for sharing lovely. It’s what matters most in this world really, once we love ourselves, as cliche as it sounds, we can only give out more love to those around us.

    Happy Valentines day <3

This is so cute and inspiring, thank you for writing about this. I love my boyfriend but I put a lot of my time into spending with him because, well I love him <3 But because of that I have less time to focus on me and especially my blog which I have been trying to push myself to do more of. Because of you I am going to start doing more of what I want to do. Thank you so much 🙂

I love this post SO much – partly because of the gorgeous imagery, and partly because the message is 100% perfect. Loving yourself is essential, regardless of whether you’re surrounded by people who love you or not! Happy Valentine’s Day gorgeous 🙂

I totally agree with self love – it’s definitely one of the most important loves out there! And these pictures are gorgeous 🙂 Can’t believe that guy said that to you! I guess it just shows even more that we need to keep talking about loving ourselves and putting ourselves first. I try to keep reminding myself that I don’t need a man to complete me (although a nice one would be great!)

I know, bloody cheek haha! Just goes to show you how men portray love, but how we see things differently. All for self love but I hope a lovely one comes along for you lady! 🙂 x

This is something that I really need to focus on doing more. I’ve been struggling so much lately with my health, confidence and happiness and I’ve neglected myself so much … time to get the old me back on track!

Same love, feel like I need to spend some time looking after myself first, it’s so easy to just let things slip when you become so busy with day to day life! x
