SALTED CARAMEL & SEA SALT HOT CHOCOLATE!
YOU WILL NEED...
FOR THE HOT CHOCOLATE...
2 cups or 500ml of whole milk
100ml of double cream (optional)
100g of 70% chocolate chopped into pieces
1 level tbsp caster sugar
2 heaped tbsp of drinking chocolate powder (for extra richness)
FOR THE TOPPING...
Pinch of sea salt
Whipped spray cream
Salted caramel sauce (Tesco's Finest Salted Caramel worked really well and you can use it for loads of recipes, or simply eat it straight out of the jar like i did :))
HOW TO :
Put the milk, double cream (if using), chocolate, sugar and salt into a saucepan whisking continuously over a low heat until the chocolate has completely melted into the milk. Taste the hot chocolate, if you prefer it be slightly richer now is the time to add the drinking chocolate powder. Continue to whisk until the powder has dissolved.
Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of salted caramel (or however much of this scrumptious sauce you want) into a microwaveable bowl and cook for about a 40 seconds or until it becomes a drizzle consistency.
Pour the hot chocolate into 2 mugs, spray your whipped cream and then drizzle the caramel sauce over the top with a sprinkle of sea salt. You can also grate some chocolate if you're feeling super naughty!! Enjoy!!
