Let's take a closer look at the hotel...
I loved the room from the second I stepped it, it felt very zen (it reminded me a lot of Thailand) and I instantly felt relaxed. It was luxurious; yet a modern luxury rather than the luxury you tend to find in London which I loved. And then... I discovered the bathroom and OHMIGOD - can you deal?! As a blogger cliche you can imagine my sheer delight when I discovered a full marble bathroom - I whipped out some beauty products and got snapping for a blog post (Ben was at work - DW I'm not that mean!). The bathroom for me was absolute #GOALS - I would loveeeee a marble bathroom when myself and Ben move out and this for me was the ultimate inspiration! The first thing I do when I check into a hotel is run a hot bubble bath (they had White Company bath products... winning at life!), then I spent some time relaxing and getting ready with lots of time to spare (I'm forever rushing around otherwise!).
The hotel is located on the edge of Hyde Park - we strolled through the park after breakfast the next morning and it was so lovely! We walked down to Oxford street to do some shopping and it was about a 10/15 minute walk at a leisurely pace.. lush! This boutique hotel is the latest creation of famed British designer Anouska Hempel- ranked one of the world's top 100 interior designers and architects (how cool is that?!). Anouska Hempel has made a name for herself in landscape design and high fashion and has owned, designed and managed several award-winning, luxury boutique hotels - including this one!
I was really intrigued when our invite was extended to dine in the Vegan & Raw restaurant - not in a bad way, it's just I've never dined at a restaurant like that before and just wasn't sure what to expect. So, I'm just gonna throw it out there and say I was really bloody pleasantly surprised - the food was amazing and there was a really lovely ambience in the hotel! The only thing I would say, is that they offer 'chic mocktails' - I had the virgin Cosmopolitan and it was LUSH, however I was devo that I couldn't have a glass of wine with dinner *sob, but we went out for drinks after so that's all good!
Raw's chef Nik Heartland, has designed a menu to provide some of the best that nature can offer, with a selection of vegan friendly, dairy free and raw dishes. I wasn't sure what to expect but when we saw the menu I spotted some of my favourites on there including hummus and pitta bread which I had for starters - it was absolutely delicious, and a great price for just £7 too as the portion was huge! For main I had pasta which again was super yummy, Ben had exactly the same as me and we both really, really enjoyed the food! Originally we were eyeing up the chocolate desert but were too full after mains.. *sob.
Starter: Hummus & Kalamata Olives with Choice of Pitta or Gluten Free Bread - £7.00
Main course: Penne Pomodoro with Buckwheat Pasta with Tomato & Basil Sauce, Rocket & Kale - £11.00
Have you stayed at La Suite West before? Would you like to dine at a Vegan & Raw restaurant? What do you think of this hotel?
*A hugeeeeee thank you to La Suite West for hosting myself and Ben for the night, as always all opinions are my own as well as images.
