The Perfect Summer Date With Echo Falls

I have always been a massive fan of musicals. I am completely guilty of having numerous Spotify playlists with songs from all my faves such as Chicago, Grease, Footloose and Dirty Dancing. So when Echo Falls invited me to attend Luna Cinema and I spotted Grease on the schedule, I couldn’t resist!

On the Saturday over the Bank Holiday weekend in August, my boyfriend and I travelled up to Hatfield House with our camping chairs, snacks – including the most dreamy chocolate brownies from Borough Market we had picked up earlier that day – and our blankets ready for an evening of sing-a-long fun (not that my boyfriend was completely bought into this I must say!)

As soon as we arrived at the venue, we headed straight to the Echo Falls bus to try out some of their Fruit Fusion wine. I sampled Raspberry & Cassis, Summer Berries and White Peach & Mango – all which were perfect for a refreshing summer beverage. In the end, we grabbed a bottle of the White Peach & Mango (and some pizza) and got cosy, ready for the film to start.

The atmosphere was so brilliant. There were people of all ages: couples, groups of friends, hen parties, all ready to relive the classic film. The funniest thing is that there is a very similar scene in the film to how we were set up, when Sandy and Danny are at the drive-in watching a movie and John Travolta sings ‘Oh Sandy!’ – which everyone was singing at the very top of their voice. To be honest, that’s what I loved the most about the experience – you could never get away with singing in the cinema so loudly that you barely have a voice the next day, it was so so great!

The Luna Cinema presents movies all across the country, mainly at venues across London but they also have showings at beautiful sites such as Chiswick House, Hampton Court Palace and Rochester Castle. They show anything from chick flicks like Notting Hill, to sci-fi like Star Wars – so there really is something for everyone. There are films running for the rest of the month at various locations, so don’t miss out!

What's your perfect date night? Would you love to visit an outdoor cinema? What movie would you love to watch?

This sounds amazing! I love the idea of outdoor cinemas like this, and the grounds look gorgeous too! Grease – what a film, probably the best for such an experience! The wines look lovely too, I’m a fan of the summer berries but white peach and mango sounds delicious too!

What a beautiful occasion! Something about this feels very Midsomer Murders-meets-anything-fairytale-related – just dreamy! I’ve never before considered checking out an outdoor cinema, though so long as I had a warm jacket/anorak with me – I may just give the concept a go! Wonderful post 🙂
