3 Nights At The Bohemia Suites & Spa

I recently spent 3 nights at the Bohemia Suites & Spa in Gran Canaria, here's why you should too!...

Let's rewind a couple of weeks and I was stepping on the plane heading to Gran Canaria. Now I don't know about you, but I didn't know tonnes about the Canary Islands before my trip, I'd been to Fuertuventura once when I was like 13 on a family holiday and it hadn't really crossed my mind since to be honest... until now! An invite dropped through my emails inviting me on a four day trip to stay at the Bohemia Suites & Spa, I was eager to see what the island had to offer and the hotel looked beautiful so I said yes. And boy, am I glad I did! The Canary Islands hadn't really been top of my travel bucket list but it's one of those places that's massively underrated - it was the most beautiful island and our hotel was to die for! I'm working on a post to cover what we got up to on the island during our stay, but today, I'm hear to talk to you about the hotel, so let's go...

THE POOL...

I'm trying not to be a massive cliche by starting off talking about the pool… but LOOK AT IT THOUGH! The hotel had two pools, a 22 metre freshwater pool with jet streams and a smaller pool which looked equally as inviting! Looking for a sun-downer? (or a 3pm Mojito in our case) - fear not as the Sapphire Pool Bar is situated right beside the main pool. The pools are surrounded by lush palm trees and exotic flowers - amazing photo op!

THE SUITES...

The boutique hotel has a total of 67 rooms; 29 of which are suites (hence the name Bohemia Suites & Spa!), we had the pleasure of staying in a beautiful Junior Suite during our stay and the rooms were incredible, complete with a hugeeeeeee, squishy bed which I struggled to peel myself away from every morning, a balcony with a comfy sun bed, rain showers, espresso coffee machines and double sinks… so good!

Every suite that is booked gets full use of their personal tablet with built in internet, so you can use internet anywhere on the island for FREE - genius (especially for us bloggers/social media addicts!), just log in to your social accounts and off you go! You can also contact the hotel directly via message in case you have an inquiry or would like to book a table for dinner, you can book spa treatments, cars… the list is endless! I've never been presented one of these in a hotel before and I was seriously impressed - it made such a difference to our trip and the convenience and ease of the device is second to none!

SIAM SPA...

During our stay we were each fortunate enough to experience a luxurious spa treatment at the Siam Spa which was Thai inspired, having been to Thailand I can honestly say the decor was so authentic and stunning too! I opted for the Asian Aromatherapy massage which was lovely and super relaxing!

Authentic Thai luxury on 600 m² immerse guests into a world of senses and soothing relaxation. Thai massage personnel offer a Spa menu ranging from original Thai massages to relaxing Balinese treatments. A luxury Hammam is also available. Non hotel guests are warmly welcomed. Prices starting at 59€.

ATELIER COCKTAIL BAR...

I don't even know where to start with Atelier, this bar genuinely served the best cocktails that I have ever had (both in terms of taste and presentation). The cocktail menu was served in an old fashioned book with weathered pages, there was no detail left unthought about! Each night we'd each order a different cocktail and wait in anticipation to see how it would be served - my favourite was the Rose cocktail… YUM!

Located on the eighth floor of Bohemia Suites & Spa hotel. The “Atelier” is the place to receive close attention… special attention. Where what you would like to have is designed especially for you. That is why it is much more than just a place to have a cocktail and a good time; it is also a learning space for artistic creation where you can compare experiences, a place where that “added value” is the most important thing for us. It is said that “craftsmen and women carry out their work by hand or with manual tools“. On the basis of this premise, we make all our products in a totally artisan way through mixology, which is the art and the study of the science of mixing drinks, the passion for research and deep knowledge of distillates, their preparation and mixing. Prices around 8-12€. Opened from midday until midnight in Winter and 1am in Summer.

360º RESTAURANT...

On our second night at the hotel we were treated to an incredible 7 course meal, accompanied with a different wine suited to each dish (pretty sure we rolled ourselves back at 1am that night!), the a-la-carte food was to die for - flavours combined that you could never imagine working but somehow they just did! But, what's really special about this restaurant is the 360º panoramic view where you can watch the sun rise or set, it's truly something special!

The roof top 360º Restaurant welcomes house guests for sunny breakfast with splendid panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Dunes of Maspalomas. At night it opens as an a-la-carte restaurant to the public offering one of the finest cuisines available on the Island. Breakfast and lunch also served here. Price per plate (dinner): around 35€

On the last night the wonderful team put on an incredible spread of street style food for us, from burritos and tacos to coconut based cocktails served in Pineapples (and chilli infused Tequila cocktails served in Peppers - that's a first but they were undoubtedly amazing!)
