Let's rewind to mine and Ben's trip to Singapore last month (detailed post on our trip here in case you missed it!), we spent one leisurely Monday afternoon at the beautiful Raffles Hotel enjoying afternoon tea, I've been dying to share our experience with you all, because, oh what an experience it was! Raffles has been standing since 1887 and is now one of the most iconic hotels in South East Asia, on first impressions the hotel was so colonial and grand, one of those moments that makes you truly proud to be British! I felt like I'd hopped into a time machine and could almost see guys walking around in their safari-esque soldier outfits (carry on style, you feel?!) it was so surreal, in the best way possible!
We arrived at the hotel half an hour before our afternoon tea so we could walk around and explore the grounds (if you're visiting I'd highly recommend you do this too as the hotel and it's surroundings are so stunning!), we were then taken to the Tiffin Room to enjoy our afternoon tea, we made sure we didn't eat all morning so we could really enjoy it (nothing worse than when afternoon tea beats you!), there was a beautiful selection of food from traditional scones and sweet treats, to dim sum, fruit platters and pastries. We washed our food down with some delicious bubbles (because afternoon tea wouldn't be complete without champagne!) and had the most magical afternoon, go on, see for yourself...
If you're heading to Singapore then I would 100% recommend afternoon tea at Raffles, it's one of those things that everyone has to experience! I was so surprised at how good the value for money was too! Expect to pay 62 Singaporean dollar which is around £31 per person - which is so cheap compared to afternoon teas in London! Get yourself down there guys if you're ever in Singapore - it won't disappoint, promise!
Have you ever been to Raffles before? Is it somewhere you'd love to visit and experience afternoon tea? Are you planning on going?
*A HUGE thank you to Raffles for hosting us for afternoon tea, it was delicious!
