#12countries12months: part 4 – Miami

WELCOME TO MIAMIIIII… *Sorry it had to be done! Last month I headed to Miami for four days of fun with Thomas Cook Airlines and some wonderful blogging babes; Amy, Jen & Sabina. We split our stay up and spent two nights in Coral Gables and two nights on South Beach, I have a post going live later this week where I’ll be sharing a tonne of hotel snaps and some more insight on our stays at each place.

I’ve been SO excited to share this post/vlog with you all and I hope it really captures the ‘real’ Miami. I have to say, as much as I fell in love with Miami, it was probably the weirdest place I’ve ever been to, it was so man made and tailored to the rich, also a lot of the art deco movement still stands so it genuinely feels like you’ve stepped back in time. Like I said I loved it all the same, it was the perfect place to relax, party and soak up some cultue all in one!

I’m thinking of putting together a guide on things to do in Miami as there was so much to do I honestly believe there is something there for everyone whether you’re looking for a cultured trip or just heading there to party – we picked up some awesome tips on places to go so stay tuned for that!

My favourite place was Wynwood as it was just so incredibly beautiful, if you’re planning to visit Miami I would say it’s the one place I 100% recommend you visit (like, you’re not allowed to leave Miami until you’ve been, K!). The neighborhood was packed with graffiti, murals and street art, the artists were super talented and some of the pieces were led by political and current movements, whilst others were simply fun!

Us bloggers had an absolute field day as it was such a beautiful place to snap outfit pictures, we were so lucky as we were bless with incredibly weather that day too! If you do visit, I’d highly recommend booking a tour with… as they will walk you around and talk you through some of the pieces, it was super insightful and we picked up things that we would never have known on our own.

On that note, I’m going to let the pictures do the talking (sorry, it is a little picture heavy - if you make it to the end then GO YOU!), enjoy…

Like I said, Wynwood was my favourite place in Miami (EVER), so I thought I'd kick this post off with some Wynwood snaps! Honestly this place was so, so incredible, it was so bright and beautifiul - I've never seen anything quite like it in my life! I can't wait to return one day as it was a hub of happiness!

We spent one morning at the Perez Art Museum and it's honestly a 'must-do' if you're planning to visit Miami! The museum itself is a work of art and simply stunning, it also has a lovely outdoor area to see and watch the boats docking in the sunshine! It also has the best museum gift shop... EVER!

We spent the morning at Shake A Leg, a watersports facility where we enjoyed a boat trip and learned to paddle board. Shake A Leg stands out from any other watersports facility as they offer recreational use for everyone, including a huge summer project they run to help children and adults with disabilities or who are challenged physically, emotionally or ecomonically. I absolutely love what these guys do and will be talking about them more!

One afternoon we visited the Fairchild Tropical botanical gardens and oh my, it was so beautiful! We were so lucky as the weather was perfect for a wander around these stunning gardnens, we also popped into the butterfly enclousure which was stunning! I'd highly recommend a trip!

One of my favourite days was when we got the chance to explore South Beach, we wandered around snapping away and were lucky enough to go on an Art Deco and culinary tour which were both super insightful and fun! South Beach genuinely felt like you'd stepped back in time, packed with pastel Art Deco inspired buildings and palm trees as far as the eye can see! Make sure you visit the Versace mansion too, it's pretty darn impressive!

One afternoon we were fortunate enough to wander around the Miami Design District, a neighbourhood packed with innovative fashion, art, design, architecture and dining experiences! I've never quite experienced anything like the design district and would reccomend a trip, even just for a wander around Dior, Hermes and Bvlgari to window shop! The stores are super swanky and seriously impressive, definitely worth a visit!

We spent our last night in Miami enjoying an incredible dinner at STK, followed by an evening partyin at Club Liv which is situated in the Fontainebleau hotel (it was one of the BEST clubs I've ever been too!), if you're heading to Miami to party then you HAVE to visit - SO MUCH FUN!

I’ve been looking forward to this post, I love South Beach so much! We enjoyed going for a tour around all the gorgeous 5* hotels in Sobe. Never been to Wynwood though, so I’ll add that to my list? What was STK like? I’ve been to the one in London and Vegas and they both had a great party atmosphere and gorgeous food! Angharad x
