It's nearing that time when everyones looking to book their summer holidays (unless you're one of the super organised types that has their trips booked and paid for a year in advance - I take my hat off to you as I'm so unorganised!). There's plenty of travel planning going on my end as I'm working on my #12Countries12Months project so I'm constantly surrounded by brochures and looking for deals on my next trip. I thought' I'd share my top 5 tips for booking the perfect summer trip (ensuring you save money and pack the most enviable wardrobe in the process!), enjoy!...
I have to admit, Pinterest is my one-stop-shop to holiday inspiration (and every other kind of inspiration thinking about it!), I adore Pinterest and am constantly lusting after visiting destinations that I've spotted on there! If you're stuck on where to head this summer, I'd highly recommend turning to Pinterest, it's a great idea to set up a Holiday Inspiration board where you can pin all the potential destinations you'd like to visit.
My holiday board features Santorini, Croatia, Japan and Canada - four places that I'd love to visit this year! If you're not sure where to start then why not try searching something quite vague such as 'summer destinations' or 'top countries to visit in 2016' and start compiling your board.
Once you have a rough idea of where you'd like to go you can start the real planning on your trip such as budget, what time of year to visit, any particular hot spots you'd like to visit whilst there etc. Set aside an evening where you can get pin-happy over a glass of vino and get those holiday destination ideas flowing!

I'm a bargain hunter through and through, whether I'm purchasing a new handbag, buying a new car or booking a holiday, I always want to get the best deal and save money where I can - don't we all?! When it comes to booking a trip I always turn to comparison website or budget airlines to scout out the best deals before I book!
Sometimes it works out cheaper to book flights & hotels separate rather than a package deal so it definitely pays to look around before you commit, a couple of years back I managed to get a £1 flight to Dublin and you can book a budget flight with Easyjet for as little as £20!
I thought I'd put together my top go-to websites for booking a holiday if you're stuck for options!...
MY TOP WEBSITES FOR BOOKING A HOLIDAY:
Booking.com - my go-to for cheap hotels!
Expedia - A great comparison website!
Mr & Mrs Smith - Amazing for boutique hotels!
Hotels.com - Another great comparison site for cheap hotels!

So, you've decided where you're heading this summer, now to pack accordingly! First up, do a little research on the weather, if it's going to be super hot, don't forget to pack the essentials such as a floppy hat, sun cream & comfy sandals. If you're braving colder climates then ensure you've got a warm coat, snow boots and a good moisturiser secured in your case! Work out the climate and plan your holiday wardrobe around the temperatures you're facing!
Now, you've decided on where to go, booked your trip at a competitive price and planned your wardrobe! Last up, I would recommend to do a little research and plan your trip, I always love to roam around new places and stumble across cute little boutiques and coffee shops, however, if you're planning a short trip you don't want to waste any time so it pays to be organised.
Turn to blog posts, Twitter and guides such as Lonely Planet to discover the best places to eat, visit and shop etc! Have a rough idea in mind of what you'd like to do and work out if their are any 'must visit hot spots' that you need to make it to and plan your trip around your focal points!
