Pre-LFW LG set me a challenge to style 3 outfits; a casual Sunday outfit, a smart work outfit and a sportswear look. I couldn't wait to put my looks together and share them with you all! LG are the official garment care sponsors of London Fashion Week and for the launch of their new 6 Motion Direct Drive Washing Machine, they have put together a garment care booklet featuring myself and three other lovely bloggers, talking about our how we wash and style our three outfits for various occasions...
OUTFIT 1: SPORTS WEAR...
Now, I don't know about you girls, but I'm pretty useless at washing (I blame my mum TBF as I must get it from her), I always seem to die my whites a nice pink shade (LOLZ), and am forever shrinking things in the tumble dryer, like, no I can't fit in clothes made for a 12 year old and yes, these sleeves used to be full length not cropped, whoops. So I'm all for simplicity when it comes to washing and I have to be, from the three categories that LG set me, sportswear for me is the easiest to wash!
As a non-gym bunny I don’t own a tonne of work out clothes but the ones I do own tend to be dark colours, as much as I love bright/fun gym clothes I never want to draw loads of attention to myself when working out so I usually opt for my black Nike leggings and a black workout top of some sort.
This one is from H&M, it’s made up of 90% polyester and 10% elastane with breathable panels in the sides which is great for working out. I tend to wash all of my gym stuff as soon as I’m home on a 40, so I can tumble dry it then it’s ready for the next day (or month) when I’m ready to hit the gym again. I picked up this hoody from H&M recently too, it’s super warm and perfect to throw on when walking to and from the gym!
OUTFIT 2: SMART ATTIRE...
I picked up this military style dress from Oasis the other day and love it, it’s so easy to wear as I can layer it over roll necks or a shirt if I need to dress smarter. The material is 100% polyester as as it’s black I can just shove it on with a dark wash and not have to worry too much about it so it’s super easy to wash and just drys straight back into shape!
I own far too many black clothes that I care to really admit but it’s just such a classic colour and in this case I think it’s a flattering silhouette in terms of this button down dress. I can tumble dry this dress on a 30 so it doesn’t shrink but this staple piece is a no brainer when it comes to washing and drying which is great as I don’t have to worry about it going out of shape or shrinking!
OUTFIT 3: CASUAL...
I love to be cosy and this is the kind of outfit you’ll catch me wearing on a Sunday or when I’m working from home catching up on blogging and emails. Converse are always my go-to for comfort as they are just so easy to wear, I love rocking them with dungarees and channeling my inner 5 year old. Layered over a cosy jumper, this is the perfect weekend outfit!
I’m really loving muted tones right now (to match the weather here in London) so I opted for this light grey jumper. With my dungarees I have to be careful not to pop them straight into the tumble dryer as I’m always worried they will shrink as the denim is quite stiff, so I tend to dry them over the radiator instead!
So, there we have it! My three looks that I was challenged to style by LG, you can take a look at how the other bloggers styled their outfits, take a look at their tips on washing their favourite outfits; from the gym to the office!
