6 months on…

Why I made the best decision of my life last year…

Around 6 months ago I decided to hand in my notice to a job that I loved so dearly, an office full of once colleagues that turned into friends. I worked 3 days a week in London at a beauty agency but after I broke up with my ex I felt like it was time for a fresh start, in every aspect of my life.

I handed in my notice, packed my backpack and headed off for a month long trip to Thailand and Malaysia with my best friend, nothing quite clears your head like cocktails on the beach with your bestie! Once I was back I was ready to dive full steam ahead into my blog.

Why it was the scariest decision of 2015…

As much as I can admit it was a great decision, it also felt slightly ‘reckless’ and such a big jump to make. After spending a month in Thailand, staying in amazing hotels and spending money without a care in the world, I came home and it dawned on me… I don’t have an ‘actual’ job, like a 9 to 5, ‘X’ amount in the bank a month. I didn’t know when my next job or pay cheque was coming in.
With a little over £150 in the bank, it was queue panic stations. I landed back to London and earth with a bump and knew I had to turn things around pretty quickly and up my game. I was living at home at the time, however I did have bills and responsibilities, and I also wanted to have a life. Time to get serious and get my career off the ground!

Why it was the best decision of 2015…

I almost had to forget about the money aspect for a while and just focus on doing what I love, producing content and working with brands that I’d built a long standing relationship with. Being a full time blogging was genuinely like a dream come true, without blowing my own trumpet, I was honestly so, so proud of myself. I started my blog in my bedroom at university just over 4 years ago and now it’s my full time job.

I honestly look back and am so grateful that I found the inner strength to make the jump to a full time blogger, 6 months on and I can easily see that it was the best decision that I made last year. I had such an amazing wealth of support from my family, friends and followers when I made the jump and I’m so, so glad I did.
Since then I’ve had some amazing opportunities to travel with my blog, work with brands I never would have thought imaginable and my blog is now stronger than ever. I thank my lucky stars every day that I believed in myself when I really needed to. Hard work really does pay off if you put your mind and time into it!

 Plans for 2016…

A few weeks back I wrote a post on my huge travel plans for 2016, I’m so excited to spend a large part of this year travelling and being able to take you guys along for the ride. Other than sharing more travel content, I have started up my YouTube channel and I hope to focus more on lifestyle posts and sharing more fashion content!

Thank you all for sticking with me, for reading my blog and following my journey, BIG LOVE! <3

I really love what you did. Just going all in, take a chance, do what you love! For me this no opportunity. I have a fulltime job and I can’t afford to just live off my blog. But maybe one day there might be a chance to simply go the same way you did! Love to see you getting better and stronger in what you do! 🙂
