A Letter To Myself; A Vow That 2016 Will Be MY Year & Why The Best Is Yet To Come!

Dear me,

You’re not really one for ‘New Years resolutions’, never stick to them anyway so what’s the point?

But this year, it’s not so much about resolutions but homing in on a few truths, a few changes that need to be made and a few goals that you’re going to smash.

2015 was a whirlwind, one of excitement and joy, of sadness and pain. You quit your job and started blogging full time, everyday you pinch yourself that you’re living out your dream, how wonderful!?

You also learnt a few hard lessons, you learnt that people aren’t always what they seem. That they can lie and deceive you in the worst way possible, even those closest to you. You learnt some lessons that everyday make you a stronger person. Make you able to say ‘thank you’ for changing my life for the better and drawing the positives from a situation. You learnt to find strength you didn’t know you had.

After all,  your value doesn’t decrease on someone’s inability to see your worth.

You learnt that friends and family can also have a negative impact on your life. But you also learnt that that’s okay, because sometimes people are fighting their own battles. Saying this, you learnt when to stop giving when you were getting nothing in return, when to invest your time and when to cut your losses.

Amongst the relationships lost, you gained some of the most beautiful friendships too. You gained friends through blogging that you know you will have in your life for a long time. You acquired someone very special who can make you smile without having to say anything. You had the support of your readers and felt a connection with them, like they were also your friends.

This Christmas you took time out to help those less fortunate, you thank your lucky stars everyday of the position your in but you don’t ever let it slip your mind that not everyone is that lucky. Next year you’re going to start giving time back to help those that are in need of the help, not because it will make you feel better, because you like to think that someone would do the same for you.

This year, is going to be about you. Your going to travel a lot, because it’s what you’ve always wanted to do. You’re going to love fiercely, because that’s the only way your heart knows how. Your going to succeed in your career, because you’re so driven there isn’t another option. Your going to leave the past in the past, wipe the slate clean and welcome a fresh start with open arms.

You’re going to exceed beyond your wildest dreams, because baby girl, 2016 is your time to shine!

Amazing post Hayley. It sounds like we both left behind bad relationships last year. I hope you find happiness in all aspects of your life this year. I've already found my greatest love in my beautiful son xx
