Last weekend I headed to the south of France from Friday-Sunday for a short break in the sunshine, discovering the beautiful town of Theoules-sur-Mer, I was lucky enough to have the most incredible group of people to spend the weekend with too which made the trip so special! We flew from London Gatwick with Monarch and arrived at the Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa around 9pm – I’m not going to talk about the hotel too much as I want to do another post on that (so many incredible pictures to share with you all so I’ll save that for another time!).
On Saturday morning we woke up to a surprise organised by the hotel… road buggies! We were all super skeptical at first, our instructions were pretty much ‘put it in drive and go’ – most of us had never driven on the ‘other side’ of the road before so it was a new experience but I can honestly hand on heart say it was one of the best experiences of my life! We took our buggies up the mountain which offered us the most incredible view of the French Riveria, we also took them off-roading and drove along the coat to soak up the views, it was a whirlwind of a morning.
At lunchtime we headed into Canne for a yummy Lebanese tapas style lunch, washed down with some crisp rose (we ate and drunk so much this trip, it was unreal!). After lunch and a wander around Canne we headed to Antibes, a beautiful quant town about 15 minutes from Canne, we wondered around the cobbled streets and visited the Picasso museum – it was a great day in the sunshine! Everywhere we looked the scenery looked so surreal like a painting, the sky and sea were both so unbelievably blue it was like looking at a postcard, so beautiful!
Later that evening we headed to the Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa‘s sister hotel; Tiara Yaktsu for a tour of the hotel (the views over the Riviera were amazing) and we enjoyed a delicious meal at their L’or bleu restaurant, I had scallops for starters, seabass for main and a yummy chocolate and passionfruit dessert! The hotel were so welcoming of our party and we had a lovely evening!
On the last day we had lunch with our lovely group, before all heading to the Tiara Spa for treatments – more on that soon! After an absolute whirlwind of a weekend we headed back to the airport around 6pm, my cheeks were sore from non-stop laughing the whole weekend and my heart was full of memories created with the best people I could have asked to spend the weekend with!
Have you ever been to the south of France? If not, I genuinely can’t recommend it enough!
