Let’s rewind back to Summer and I’m sitting here reminiscing on my four week trip to Thailand and Malaysia with my best friend, we travelled around the south of Thailand including my favourite islands Koh Tao, Koh Samui and Phi Phi. We also covered some mainland in the south and my favourite location was Phuket, during our visit we stayed at the beautiful Amari Phuket who welcome us with open arms (and an umbrella as we arrived on a reallyyyyyy rainy day, ew!).
Our room was a one bedroom suite with an ocean view which had beautiful views of Patong bay! Once we had a tour of the hotel we headed to our rooms and pitched up on our huge, comfy bed and watched Game of Thrones for the rest of the day hiding from the rain. Our room also gained us full access to the clubhouse which had a beautiful separate pool and free cocktails between 5-7, it was really lovely to enjoy a drink whilst watching the sunset before heading to dinner!
The next day I checked into the Breeze Spa for a ‘Phuket Coco Mojito’ treatment, 2 and a half hours of pure, pure bliss – the best spa package treatment I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering! My treatment included a full body scrub with a mojito scrub which acted like a mask and was left to soak into my skin under a warm towel (so good!), once I’d showered the scrub off I had a full body massage, then my treatment ended with a facial.
This was one spa treatment that I will honestly never, ever forget – the treatment was incredible from start to finish and I felt like I floated from the spa afterwards! My skin was so unbelievably smooth and soft post treatment. The experience was topped off with a panoramic view of Patong Bay which was so beautiful – it was again another rainy day when I had my treatment which was a shame as it would have been lovely to see it in the sunshine, however it was incredibly relaxing listening to the sound of the rain whilst being pampered! An absolute must if you visit the Amari Phuket!
On our second evening we were fortunate enough to dine at La Gritta, the hotels beachside restaurant. We enjoyed some delicious prosecco, gourmet pizzas and handmade pasta whilst watching the sunset (dead romantic, even with your BFF in tow!). We headed to the clubhouse beforehand to enjoy a glass of white wine and a delicious cocktail!
With 380 guest rooms and suites at the hotel, including the new Ocean Wing which we were lucky to stay in – the hotel has plenty of accommodation but still has quite an intimate feel when you’re there and less like a hotel complex that’s ‘too’ big which I loved. The hotel runs a buggy service which can take you to the restaurant, spa and club house etc which is a great way of getting around if the weather isn’t all the great (or if you’ve had a few too many vinos in our case, haha!).
The hotel overlooks Patong Bay which is the most popular beach in Phuket tourist wise, Bangla Road is a super busy street packed with bars and clubs – we went one night and it’s so much fun if you’re looking for a night out – I’d definitely recommend it! It was only a 5/10 minute walk from the hotel so it’s in a great location for wandering to find some restaurants and bars, the hotel also offers a free shuttle bus there too which is great!
I loved the fresh, clean design of the hotel with pops of the signature Amari orange throughout which made it super modern. I’m a huge, huge fan of this hotel – from the design, to the staff, dining, and beautiful pool area – every aspect of the hotel has amazing attention to detail and we felt so at home during our stay here.
If you’re looking to stay at Patong beach, this hotel is the one for you as the location is perfect but it also offers the luxury aspect that a lot of hotels closer to the beach won’t offer. The rooms are exquisite and if you’re visiting for a honeymoon or special occasion then I’d definitely recommend checking out the superior and deluxe wing as the rooms look stunning!
Have you visited Patong beach before? Would you like to visit?
