Last weekend I headed to Richfield Avenue, the home of Reading Festival with my best friend Amy for the best weekend ever. I first went to Reading a year ago and I have to say it was love at first site, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been sooner and it was honestly the best festival I’d ever been too, the layout is great and the festival itself isn’t that big so you can walk from any stage to the next in under ten minutes which is great for chopping and changing in between acts.
Last year I got the pleasure of watching The Arctic Monkeys, Everything Everything, Gorgon City, The 1975, Enter Shikari, Vampire Weekend, The Kooks and You Me At Six amongst others. It was such a good weekend and I couldn’t wait to return this year, and boy the festival didn’t disappoint one bit! We arrived around half 2 on Friday afternoon and set up camp before heading to the main stage to watch All Time Low, Bastille and Mumford & Sons.
On the Friday we met up with some old school friends and had the best day watching some awesome acts drinking cider in the sunshine. Saturday was my favourite day of the festival by far as I got to watch Catfish and the Bottlemen (who were absolutely amazing and my favourite act of the festival!), The Wombats, Twin Atlantic and Royal Blood – it was a great day and one that I’ll never forget.
Sunday we watched Years & Years who were amazing, I’m definitely going to buy tickets for one of their gigs as they were so good live! We also watched The Maccabees, Jamie T, Kendrick Lamar and The Libertines – I have to say Kendrick was incredible as were The Libertines. I went to Amsterdam last year to watch The Libertines and they were equally as good this time around – definitely ones to watch live if you haven’t already!
I can honestly say this weekend was an absolute gem and one of the best of the year by far, hands down Reading Festival is the best festival I’ve ever been too and I can honestly say that I can see myself attending for years to come! If you haven’t been to Reading before I honestly can’t recommend the festival enough – psssst… a limited number of tickets are on sale now for 2016 – I’ll be getting my ticket for next year that’s for sure, I already can’t wait!
Did you go to Reading festival this year? Who was your favourite act?
