Picture this, we arrived in Bangkok after 29 hours of travelling from London Heathrow and my emotions are all over the shop, part of me wants to crawl under the duvet for a week, another part wants to shower like I’ve been at a four day festival and the other part wants to sit on the floor in the hotel lobby and cry because I’m so tired I can’t even. So, I guess that’s what over a days worth of travelling straight does to you guys.
We jumped in a taxi from the airport and headed to our hotel, we pulled up outside the Amari Watergate hotel in Bangkok, all of my jet-lagged woes instantly melted and I instantly fell in love. My first impressions were ‘wow, there’s no one else I’d rather be here with than my best girlfriend’ – the hotel was the perfect chic city break option in my eyes!
Rooftop pool complete with bar (and uh-mazing cocktails)?! Check! Bang opposite a hugeeeeeee shopping complex (I went last time I visited Thailand and it’s also a must!)? Check! Happy hour with all the wine, cocktails and bar snacks you could dream of? Check! They also had an incredible rooftop bar area with superb views over the sparking city, big squishy beds that we had to peel ourself from, a gorgeous roll top bath (which I also found difficult to leave!) just in case it wasn’t selling it enough for you already!
The hotel was a perfect choice for an overnight stay and I’d highly recommend it to any BFF’s looking for some girl time in the dynamic city of Bangkok! All girl talk aside though, the hotel was an all-rounding for me so whether you’re looking to travel with a partner (definitely romantic views from the bar!), as a family or solo – this hotel caters for all needs and one I’d definitely recommend looking into staying at if you’re visiting Bangkok. The hotel is only a 20 minute taxi journey from Suvarnabhumi airport with good train links to the city centre also, room prices are also competitive for a luxury hotel, a definite must!
If you’re looking to stay at the hotel then you can book rooms here – make sure you check out their gallery too as the pictures on their site are incredible! (and don’t even do the hotel justice – you need to see this one for yourself guys!)
