17 Reasons You NEED To Visit Tongsai Bay In Koh Samui, Thailand!

Last week me and Amy were fortunate enough to experience a two night stay at Tongsai Bay, Koh Samui where we got to stay in their Akorn Villa – AKA the most beautiful room I have ever had the privilege of staying in! The resort offers various levels of accommodation to suit all budgets and needs, I was genuinely stunned into silence (which I can assure you doesn’t happen very often!) when we walked into our room, it was so beautiful and the resort in general was simply impeccable. I wanted to put together a post on why you need to make a visit to Tongsai Bay if you’re ever in Koh Samui!
1.) On our first night at the villa we slept outside in our poolside sun loungers so we could watch the sunrise at 6am – you get to witness the beautiful view as above (need I say anymore?!).

2.) The giant, huge, squishy, all consuming beds are the comfiest you’ll ever sleep in and I promise you won’t want to leave!

3.) Oh and the bathroom is complete with a double sink and rain shower, say whuuuuuut?!

4.) Outside baths with a view are always the icing on the cake right?! I woke up early one morning and had a warm bubble bath complete with a Linsey Kelk marathon followed by a fluffy bathroom and slippers whilst watching the sunrise, bliss!

5.) The outdoor area of our villa was just as pretty, spacious and picturesque as the inside!

6.) Complete with a double lounging bed for daytime snoozing (you know for when the sunbathing gets too much – or something like that!).

7.) The wrap around private infinity pool makes you want to sob a little with happiness every time you lay your eyes on it… that view though!!

8.) The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever eaten with an array of cooked food, fresh fruits, yoghurt, waffles, Thai style food, cereals, and the list goes on. so. much. food!
9.) Fresh fruit smoothies were continuously being made up every morning and they were the perfect way to kick start your day, packed with super fruits and antioxidants such as Ginger, Mint, Carrot and Lime… yum!

10.) Oh, and for those times when the jet lag is getting the better of you or you want to spend the night in watching Game of Thrones (that’s acceptable on holiday, right?!) the room service is bloody amazing too!

11.) Everywhere you turn in the hotel there’s another picturesque moment waiting to be snapped! (This waterfall concoction leads to the reception area, it’s so beautiful!).

12.) The spa is out. of. this. world!! Not only are the treatments incredible but the setting is to die for, I felt like I was in the middle of the jungle! We enjoyed an hour long Thai massage which I would highly recommend – after carrying a 17kg backpack around it was so needed and I felt amazing after!

13.) Tongsai Bay has recently developed it’s own ‘Green Project’ and is working with other local hoteliers to preserve the island’s natural environment for future generations!

14.) Tongsai Bay opened it’s doors in 1987 and was the first five-star luxury hotel in Koh Samui – what an amazing claim to have! The hotel is renowned for it’s tranquility and exclusivity and the private beach even excludes any water sports to preserve the natural surroundings!

15.) Set within tropical gardens on a hillside overlooking the secluding bay, accommodation at The Tongsai Bay consists of 83 suites, cottages and villas ensuring there is something for everyone!

16.) Having a private pool means you can snap Instagram-worthy pictures like the one above (whilst simultaneously flashing the passing boat, ha!).

17.) And it also means you can have bombing competitions and filming some fab Go Pro action – such a fun afternoon!

Overall, we had the most incredible stay at Tongsai Bay and I can hand on heart say it was the most beautiful resort that I have ever stayed in – our villa was just incredible and if you’re looking for a honeymoon suite or a special occasion getaway then the Akorn Villa is just what you’re looking for!

The resort was what I can only describe as a secluded paradise – thought and exquisite detail had been placed into every aspect of the hotel from the rooms, the spa, pool area and so much more. I absolutely loved our stay at Tongsai Bay and we even booked ourselves in for an extra night as we loved it so much and didn’t want to leave!

If you’re looking to visit Koh Samui and would like to stay at Tongsai Bay, you can book here through Small Luxury Hotels – I would highly recommend it as the trip for us was a once in a lifetime visit that you’ll never forget! Located in Bo Put, on the north east side of the island it’s definitely worth a visit for a serene, luxury escape for some R+R!

Have you been to Koh Samui before? Would you love stay at Tongsai Bay?
