Our final day in Thessaloniki was probably my favourite one as we spent all day on Halkidiki beach, drinking cocktails, dancing around and taking tonnes of pictures and videos – we had so much fun bonding and meeting everyone properly. It took about an hour and a half to get down to Halkidiki beach from Thessaloniki and it was well worth the trip, the beaches were beautiful and so picturesque!

After a day of sunbathing (in glorious heat) we headed back to our hotel to get changed then about ten of us went to dinner at an amazing restaurant Be* for some incredible mezze food and passionfruit cocktails. I loved the restaurant and would definitely go back if I ever returned to Thessaloniki, they also have a hotel above the restaurant which is well worth checking out!

We then took a tour of the city to explore the nightlife and it was such a fun night! We saw street parties, bustling bars and Gay Pride celebrations – Thessaloniki is the city that’s ‘young as heart’ and this night really showed me why! The streets were alive with hundreds of students and young party go-ers and there was such an amazing vibe on the streets. We watched a live rap battle and it was so much fun (genuinely felt like I was in 8 mile!). Thessaloniki isn’t somewhere you’d instantly think of for nightlife but if you’re looking to go somewhere with a vibrant nightlife but doesn’t have a 18-30 vibe then this is the place for you!

Our final day in Thessaloniki was the perfect end to a perfect break away, I met some incredible people who I know I’ll stay in touch with forever. I definitely left a piece of my heart in Thessaloniki and can’t wait to return one day!

Have you been to Thessaloniki before? Would you like to go?
