in a little pampering, after you’ve had a lie in and a day of walking in the
sunshine and catching up on your latest Netflix obsession I always love to
spend a few hours on a Sunday evening having a pamper to prepare me for the
week ahead. Here is the low down on my current pamper routine…
bubble bath – lots of candles and my kindle to accompany me as I find this
always relaxes me. After my bath it’s time to epilate my legs, now I’ll let you
in on a little secret… when I was younger (around 13) my friend pinned me down
and epilated my legs (and I mean one tiny strip on my leg) before I wriggled
away in agony – my first thought was ‘how the hell can she sit there and do that
to herself?’ I couldn’t believe how much it hurt and have never done it again
since. Until now!
just in time to prep my legs for holiday (yipeee!) I was hesitant but I got straight to it and was pleasantly surprised at just how easy (and pain-free) it actually
was! I usually shave my legs but it becomes such a chore having to maintain it, especially as the epilator offers smooth legs for up to four weeks so I know I’ll be switching to this from now on, especially as it’s summer! This epilator is available to buy now from Boots and retails at £149.99, which seems a little pricey but when you look at the feature of the epilator it’s actually a great price and also a great investment!
The Silk-Epil 9 is water tight up to five metres so it can be used in the bath or shower (this is how I prefer to use it as it’s a more comfortable and soothing experience!). It also has an adapting pivoting head which can pivot up to 30 degrees so you can get a closer epilation, the new gentler speed setting is perfect for beginners (like me!) and sensitive areas. The main thing I love about the epilator is that it has a new 40% wider head which removes more hair in one stroke and means you can epilate faster which is great!
This epilator is Braun’s most efficient epilation yet as it also offers a new micro-grip tweezer technology which means wider, longer and deeper tweezers increase the feeding and plucking performance whilst the curved geometry offers close skin contact. The combination of these two features makes it their most effective epilator yet, so as I said as first impressions it can be quite pricey but this epilator will see you through year after year at a constant high performance level which to me is worth the investment!
mask I cleanse my face using the Nude Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil
which is a really lovely, gentle cleanser. It removes any traces of makeup and
leaves my skin feeling lovely and fresh. I’ve really been loving cleansing oils
lately as they seem to add oil back into my skin leaving it feeling balanced.
Once I’ve cleansed I follow with the Skyn Iceland The ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion which is
designed to soothe stressed skin. After a busy week I find applying this really
helps to calm my skin and redness, I’m also prone to blemishes when I’m stressed
which this lotion also helps to battle.
Antipodes Light Facial Day Cream – although this is a day cream I use it in the
evenings too as my skin can be quite sensitive to any heavy creams and lotions
and I find this one is really lovely for rehydrating my skin. I finish my
pamper evening by painting my nails before jumping into bed for an early night,
my favourite polish of the moment is this Sally Hansen ‘Grape Gatsby’ which is the perfect summer shade – I love
any pastels right now and this shade is a winner for me!
are your top pamper products? Have you tried epilating before? What did you
