POOLSIDE BEAUTY

The other day I published a post on my beautiful five day stay at the Conrad Algarve hotel in Portugal, whilst there I was pretty much using the same makeup daily – you know when you just have those go-to products for holiday, well yeah this was pretty much my round up and the contents of my makeup bag that I was using everyday whilst away.
I love to keep my makeup really simple on holiday with a good dewy base and some bronzer to add a glow, also a bronzed smokey eye with some highlighting and clear balm for an enhanced natural look! In terms of bases my favourites for the holiday were the Dior Diorskin Nude Tan BB Cream or the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in ‘Peach’ which was probably my most used product all holiday – I adore this base and often just wore it on it’s own as it’s a really lovely golden shade so it just makes your tan look a little warmer but still has that ‘no makeup makeup’ feel!
My go-to bronzer was the beautiful Clarins Aquatic Treasure Summer Bronzer from their new collection which I adore – it looks almost too pretty to use but this holiday I was tucking in and it’s the perfect summer bronzer for me. As I highlighter there was only one option for me and it’s the stunning Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body which is just so lovely and sparkly so it really catches in the light as the sun is setting and it also looks great in photographs!
I’m absolutely loving the Bobbi Brown Surf and Sand palette from their limited edition collection last year, I always take this palette on holidays or overnight stays as it’s not as bulky as the Naked palettes but has all the neutrals and glittery shades I need! Two other favourite eyeshadows of mine which I recently talked about on here are the Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in ‘Golden Peach’ which is the prettiest bronzed glitter shade ever and the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in ‘On And On Bronze’ which has a dreamy application and a lasting finish that I love!
Pretty much the only mascara I’m using right now full stop is the Benefit Roller Lash as it’s honestly the best mascara I’ve ever tried so I used this everyday on holiday for full, volumised lashes! I also recently picked up some rose gold (squeeee) eye lash curlers from H&M for only £3.99 which i’m loving right now! They’re amazing lash curlers for under £4 and they look great in pictures! My hero product of the holiday had to be the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm as I was constantly applying this whilst sunbathing, on the plane or of an evening and it kept my lips so nourished and hydrated and it adds a lovely sheen at the same time, a permanent handbag fixture!
I took my new Zoeva Rose Gold Brushes will me to trial and I absolutely loved them, my favourites were the buffing, blusher and also the precision brush which was perfect for brows! I also took along the Kiko Modern Tribe Face Brush which I was surprised by how much I actually loved this brush! At first I was a bit sceptical of the shape of it but it’s actually the shape of it that I love so much as it perfectly moulds to your cheek so you can achieve a lovely bronzed glow!
My scent of the holiday had to be the Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne which will now forever remind me of my holiday to Portugal! It was just the perfect holiday fragrance and I also loved the 30ml size as it was so handy to pop in my evening handbag or carry on bag when flying. I’m definitely going to stock up on the full size fragrance as I can just see that this will be my summer scent!
