I have to say of all the hotels I’ve ever stayed in this is definitely up there with one of the best I’ve ever stayed in, the hotel was honestly breathtaking and it just kept getting better! It had an infinity pool which was where we spent most of our days lounging and reading (or sipping on yummy cocktails!), they also had another pool surrounded by beautiful sun lounging beds and a heated indoor pool in case the weather wasn’t quite warm enough.
The hotel lobby was beautifully light and spacious, everything was marble (as you can imagine I was in heaven!), the service when we initially arrived at the hotel was impeccable, we were greeted by the friendly staff who took out luggage and sat us down to be checked in. They explained everything to use from where we’d find breakfast to the free hotel service which would take us to the beach. The staff were the icing on the cake for me on this trip, just when I thought it couldn’t get anymore amazing they went out of their way to do everything they could for us and I’d honestly return to the hotel on that basis alone as it made our trip so special!
We stayed at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and oh my goodness the breakfast was amazing! It was a buffet service but unlike any buffet I’d had before, they had a huge array of hot and cold foods, pastries, cooked breakfasts, fresh smoothies, champagne (champagne for breakfast?! Of course we couldn’t say no!). We usually sat outside for breakfast as it was a little cooler early in the mornings so it was nice to sit outside, there was always plenty of tables each morning and the staff were so efficient, every morning they’d bring over a fresh basket of pastries to our table which was a lovely touch!
A few nights we decided to have a wander out of the hotel and found a lovely little Italian restaurant in a luxury complex opposite our hotel, another night we had the most incredible meal at the hotels michelin-star restaurant Gusto by Heinz Beck – but there will be another post on that later this week as the food was out of this world and I have a lot of pictures (drool worthy ones, yes!) so that deserves another post altogether!
One evening we decided to eat dinner at the hotels Louro restaurant (which is where we had breakfast everyday) and the food was divine and more affordable. We were lucky enough to watch the sunset over the pool area which was beautiful (picture above) and were brought some warm, crusty bread once we’d sat down with a side of oil, butter and seed which was a lovely touch! We ordered some crisp white wine which was delicious and I ordered roasted vegetables and potatoes with feta cheese – it was absolutely divine and so tasty! Amy ordered a Cajun chicken breast with a side of fries – both of which I tried and can vouch for how yummy hers was too!
I honestly don’t know where to start with the spa, it was out of this world! Me and Amy both had an hour long bespoke treatment, it started by us completing a form about how we’ve been feeling lately, stressed, anxious, had a cold, looking for inner strength etc then we were lead into our treatment rooms to access which treatment would be best for us. As I’ve had a lot of stress with my back lately I had a 40 minute back massage followed by a neck and head message which really helped as I’d had a cold pretty much from the moment we arrived and I felt much better afterwards!
After our treatments we were super sleepy and relaxed so we headed to the loungers around the spa’s private pool area and went for a swim. We also used the sauna, heated beds and jacuzzi which were amazing! After a morning of relaxation we headed down to the pool area to grab some lunch and spent the afternoon napping on our loungers – it was the perfect day!
I genuinely don’t know if my post and images have done this incredible hotel justice, it was honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at and the service was out of this world. If you’ve never been to the Algarve (or Portugal) then I’d highly recommend a trip – it’s so relaxed and beautiful I’m already planning to return within the year, Lisbon is next on my list! The Algarve is also perfect if you or your partner are big on golf as they have so many golfing resorts you would love it!
Also, Amy enjoyed her stay equally as much as me and has a few words on our trip; “Our stay at the Conrad Algarve was amazing, definitely the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Such a beautiful hotel and the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Our trip to the Gusto by Heinz Beck restaurant was amazing and a meal I’ll never forget! The hotel ticked all the boxes and then some, I’d 100% recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere special to stay!“
Have you ever been to the Algarve? Would you like to visit Portugal?
