With the warmer weather lately (albeit slightly sporadic in when it decides to be hot!) I’ve been upping my tan game so when that moment comes where a 25 degree springs out of no-where I can whip out a summer dress and I’m prepared! In this post I’m covering my top tanning/bronzing picks including gradual tans, face tans, bronzer and illuminators – enjoy!
Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact: This bronzer has to be an all time favourite of mine, when I first got it I didn’t want to use it for ages as it’s just so beautiful to look at! Once I’d started using it I didn’t stop – I love how this bronzer is split into quarters with each segment slightly darker than the last. I swirl my brush on the palette and apply for a really nice even glow (without any shimmer or a hint of orange in sight!).
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact: I’ve spoken of my love for all things Bobbi Brown plenty a time on FMIF, I’ve even blogged about the shimmer brick a couple of times as it’s just such a summer staple for me. I love to sweep this shimmer across my cheek and brow bones when I’m tanned for a beautiful, glowing finish. I always pack this compact on holidays with me – it’s an absolute must!

Kiko Modern Tribe Face Brush: This brush arrived on my doorstep the other day and it’s a part of the new Kiko Modern Tribe products, I adore this brush and it’s perfect for applying my brush as the shape of the brush allows you to get a really nice sweep across your cheeks in one motion rather than buffing the colour in, it’s super easy to use and affordable too!

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster: Last year this was a big product for me as I’ve always been quite weary of putting self tan on my face as it’s the one place you can’t hide if it doesn’t quite go according to plan. I mix 2/3 drops of this in with my morning/evening moisturiser and apply every other day to maintain my tan. This product is a great gradual tan for beginners or a good holiday top up!

Clarins Radiance Plus Body Golden Glow Booster: As I mentioned above the face version of this product was a huge hit for me last year so you can imagine my excitement when Clarins bought out a body version too! Again I only use 2/3 drops and mix in with a moisturiser every couple of days, the good thing about the glow boosters is that you can add as much or little as you want which allows you to be in control of your tan.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse: This is a new release from Rimmel and I have to say I’ve been extremely impressed, this tan is a great affordable dupe for the He-Shi Gold Foaming Mousse! I love how you can see the colour as soon as you apply it so you can see what parts you’ve missed, it develops over an hour then I tend to wash off the excess later in the evening or the next morning and every time I’m left with a beautiful, even tan which I’ve received lots of comments on previously!

Institut Esthederm Sun Sheen Light Self Tanning Face Cream: As I mentioned above I can get a bit panicky about applying body self tan to my face, or any self tan for that matter. I started using this light self tanning face cream around 2 weeks ago and have loved the results so far, it’s a nice gradual tan which leaves a lovely sun kissed glow and also smells really lovely! I apply this of an evening once every 2 or 3 days if I’m having a break from my Clarins golden glow booster.

NARS Laguna Illuminator: I adore pretty much anything from NARS but this Laguna Illuminator has to be an all time favourite of mine! I love wearing this on a night out, after I’ve applied some bronzer/blush I dab this illuminator along my cheek and brow bones for a beautiful shimmer set to turn heads – a great product that I’d highly recommend!

He-Shi Gold Foaming Mousse: My absolutely all time favourite tan, ever! I’ve been a huge, huge fan of the He-Shi Gold Foaming Mousse for around a year now and I rarely use any other tans, it’s fail safe and just leaves such an even, natural tan once I’ve rinsed off the excess the next morning. It also avoids that delightful ‘biscuit’ scent that some tans have which is great, if you’re looking for an even tan to create from home then this is the product for you!

I'm a little obsessed with liquid illuminators so the Nars is next on my wish list… The KIKO brush is such an interesting shape, I don't think I've seen anything quite like it xx
