Eye shadows are my favourite makeup to experiment with, I love wearing them but truth be told you’ll hardly ever catch me wearing it during the week, maybe a flick of eyeliner if you’re lucky or a dusting of Taupe on my lids but I don’t tend to wear eyeliner in the week as I worry it will go wrong and I won’t have time to re-do it, or I just don’t have time to do it in the first place.

On the weekends, evenings out or events I love wearing a smokey eye or a bronzed lid on holiday (looks lovely with a tan) so the other day when I was rummaging through my stash I thought I’d share my top 7 single eye shadows with you all (not sure why 7 exactly but apparently that’s how many favourites I have!). I love single eye shadows for short breaks when you can only travel with hand luggage as sometimes we just can’t pack our beloved Naked palettes so here’s what I’d pack instead…

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in ‘Golden Peach’: my favourite eye shadow, EVER! This shade is one of the new sparkle releases from Bobbi Brown and it’s my go-to for holidays and nights out, it’s quite sheer so you can build it up over a smokey eye or wear it on it’s own for a subtle sparkly. This will be quickly making it’s way to my ‘forever repurchasing’ list!

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in ‘Papaya/Topaz’: I don’t think I’ve ever laid eyes on a product as beautiful as this, when it dropped through my door I was one over straight away. This product is an absolute must for holidays as it’s actually a ‘shimmer souffle’ and is designed for a blush I love to use it as a multi-use product, the blend of orange/gold in this pot makes for the perfect holiday eyeshadow too, winning!

Kiko InfinityEye Shadow in ‘Sparkling Burgundy’: I popped into Kiko at Westfield the other day (dangerous I know, I can assure you this wasn’t the only thing I left with – oops!) and spotted this beautiful plum eye shadow for £2.80… £2.80! Obviously I had to have it and have been loving a touch of this shade blended in with a smokey eye, it’s a lovely Winter shade!

Clarins Ombre Matte Eye Shadow in ‘Sparkly Grey’: This shade is always the one I reach for when creating a smokey eye, it’s a beautiful deep grey with a slight shimmer to it so it’s perfect when doing your makeup for a night out! It’s not too dark either so it’s great to build up rather than going to dark straight away and having to remove your makeup and start all over again!

Clarins Ombre Matte Eye Shadow in ‘Rosewwood’: I absolutely adore this shade and it’s probably my most worn everyday eye shadow (when I am wearing it during the day) as it’s the perfect taupe/mink shade and looks lovely and natural for daily wear. Oh, and the lid is rose gold so of course I’m obsessed with it!

Inika Vegan Eye Shadow in ‘Burnt Sienna’: This shade is my favourite loose eye shadow shade as it looks beautiful worn indiviually but it’s sheer enough to layer over other colours. I really love this shade layered over the Clarins ‘Rosewood’ as it has a slight shimmer which looks lovely worn over the top!

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in ‘On and On Bronze’: I love the formula of these eye shadows and they really do last! If you’re looking for a shadow that offers longevity then these are definitely you go-to’s girls! I love this shade on holiday and it especially looks beautiful with the Bobbi Brown Golden Peach layered over the top!

What are your favourite single eye shadow shades? Any recommendations I need to seek out?

These all look stunning; girrrrllllllll. you're doing some serious damage to my bank statement right now. They're all going top to my shopping list come pay day; especially the Bobbi Brown and Clarins offerings!

I do the same thing, always attracted to single pots of metallics! Haven't bought a nice cream shadow in a while though, these must give great colour!

I'm just about swooning over every single shade! Love your collection of favourites here. I just picked up the Becca blush and can't wait to try it as an eyeshadow! What a great idea!
