Recently I blogged about how to improve your Instagram images and the post was really well received, I thought I’d put together a post on my favourite go-to apps that I use when it comes to editing my Instagram images. I currently use my Iphone 5 for all of my Instagram images (unless I’ve pulled them from my blog – I use a Canon 600D for those), I’m due an upgrade soon and I can’t wait to get my hands on the Iphone 6 as the camera is amazing!!

On another note, I’ve had so much lovely feedback on my blog advice posts so I’ve started up a #TipsTuesday feature where every week I’ll be dishing out some tips on blogging, networking and Instagram etc. If there’s anything you’d like to see please do leave a comment or tweet me @Frockmeimfamous! As always, I’m not expert – just trying to share some knowledge on what I’ve learnt over the years, hope you enjoy the posts! 🙂

1.) Afterlight – £0.79

Afterlight is my favourite app which I use 90% of the time when it comes to editing my Instagram images, it’s like a condensed version of Photoshop for Iphones. You can adjust the contrast, clarification and brightness – I usually up the brightness on my pictures to make them clearer and I love the affect it gives too. You can also add shapes, silhouettes and type over your images which is a great extra too. I’d honestly recommend this app to anyone looking for a good editing app as I use it daily and for 79p you can’t really go wrong!

2.) A beautiful mess – £0.79

A beautiful mess is a great app for being more creative with your pictures, you can overlay beautiful fonts on your pictures, add borders and cute doodles such as hearts, emojis, flowers etc. I was obsessed with this app when I started out using Instagram, I tend to keep my images plainer now but it’s still one I turn to for anything creative or fun – if that’s your Instagram vibe then definitely download it as you’ll love it!

3.) Picfx – £1.49

Picfx, again like ABM is great for more creative images, they have some amazing filters to add to your images. One of my favourite things on the app is definitely the ‘light’ set, you can add light effects onto your image such as hearts, circles and coloured lights to the edges of your pictures which always looks really good! Definitely one to check out as there’s so many options on there!

4.) Photocollage – FREE

This app I use fairly often on my account, it’s perfect for outfit shots! Before I discovered this app I had various ‘collage’ apps but they all had a white border around the images or in between the outfits which I didn’t want. With this app you can loose the border all together so your images sit next to each other nicely, I use this often and it’s great as the app is free!

5.) VSCO cam – FREE

VSCO cam is a lot like Afterlight and a popular choice among bloggers, I tend to turn to Afterlight out of habit but I adore this app too and would definitely recommend downloading it – especially as it’s free. If you’r thinking of downloading Afterlight or VSCO maybe opt for this one first as it’s free to see how you get on with editing your pictures.

I love all your blogging tips! As a very new blogger, I am finding all your advice invaluable, thank you! (although, I keep losing hours trawling through your blog and getting nothing done, please stop being so helpful) 🙂

I always use pixlr – which is a free app in the app store. I always used the website to edit pictures on my computer then found the app version and always use that too. I find it very simple and I think it always makes my pictures look good – even if you just want to brighten them up a bit.
