MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE

With five days to go until the big day for the mums I thought I’d put together a guide of my top products (with a little help of Mother bear herself to select the most appropriate pieces of what she would love to receive!). I’ve tried to include some products across the board so have mixed some beauty, fashion, books, candles and body care to cover all basis no matter what your Mum loves! I really hope you find this useful, and I’d love to hear what you’ll treating your mum to this weekend!

Bath, body and skincare…

My first category was my Mum’s favourite as she loves a little pamper time… a hot bath, glass of wine, all the relaxing products ever – you know the drill! Her first pick was the Anne Semonin Nude Body Scrub as she loves a good body scrub and this one smells particularly divine! The price point is higher so for me this would be a real treat product! She is also a fan of using eye masks so her second go to was the Estee Lauder Stress Relief Eye Masks – you get 10 sachet masks inside so they will last a fair while and will be great for weekly pamper sessions! If your mum is looking for a good cream then I’d recommend the Radical Skincare Extreme Repair, a great anti ageing product that helps to brighten the skin also. For body the Laura Mercier Souffle Body Creme is a great choice, it’s a fair size and is a rich moisturizer so you only need to apply a tiny amount each time so it will last ages! (it also looks super pretty sitting in the bathroom cabinet too!).
For hand and nail care the Orly Hand and Nail Cream is a great product – I really love the packaging too as it’s unusual to have a hand cream that’s not in a tube, I think it gives the product a more luxe feel! A pale pink polish such as the Orly ‘Kiss The Bride’ Nail Polish is a great fail safe as everyone needs a go-to neautral shade for everyday and this is a favourite of mine (and Mum’s!). If your mum always has a lip balm in her handbag then I’d recommend the Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm which is a lovely nourishing product with a slight peach undertone, perfect! I’d also recommend checking out Avon as they always have tonnes of lovely ‘Mum’ style gifts including the lovely Planet Spa one pictured!

Fashion, food and candles…

I’ll start this category by talking about the most perfect candle that ever was; the Jo Malone Cardamom & Moroccan Candle which smells simply divine! The candle is so beautifully decorated too this would make a real statement in any room. As we all know the Jo Malone packaging is to die for and this candle alone would make the perfect Mother’s Day gift in my eyes! I recently purchased the Deliciously Ella Cookbook which is amazing, my mum has started to take a real interest in some of the recipes I’ve been making from home so I think this would make a wonderful present if your mum is into cooking and baking!
If your Mum is quite the jet-setter then I’d highly recommend this beautiful Aspinal of London Passport Cover from their new Spring collection, the colours are beautiful and will certainly make a lovely gift (the Aspinal of London packaging is also wonderful as it comes boxed so no need to wrap etc!). I really love this BeckSondergaard ‘Charlene’ scarf which is a great Mother’s Day present – my Mum personally tends to wear fairly plain colours but would love to add some colour/pattern with a scarf like this to brighten her outfit! This nude/pink BHS Handbag with gold finishings is a great size for those busy mums who are always dashing here and there but still want to look nice (it’s also been reduced to £16 in the sale too!). Talking of bags this Bourjois Mirror is a perfect handbag essential to keep on you at all times!

Makeup and fragrance…

First up, let’s talk fragrance! If your mum is into sweet/florally scents then I’d highly recommend either Stella Mccartney ‘Stella’ or Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet – which are both dreamy fragrances and beautifully packaged. For a slightly deeper/headier scent I would opt for the YSL Black Opium Gift Set (which comes in amazing gift set from Fragrance Direct complete with a beauty bag, mini mascara and eye liner which is great for travelling!) or the Giorgio Armani Si which is a personal favourite fragrance of mine! For a fresher scent try the Clinique Aromatics in White which is perfect for Spring/Summer time!

If your mum is a fan of neautral makeup then the Clinique Aromatics in White Eye Shadow Palette and Crystallized Lip Gloss are your go-to’s! They are the new launches from Clinique and would make a great gift as a pair! If your mum tends to wear a bit more colour when it comes to lips then my recommendations would be either the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in ‘Red Sunshine’ which is a great budget lip product to keep in your handbag at all times, or the Tom Ford Lips and Boys in ‘Flynn’ which makes a wonderful luxe alternative if you’re looking to treat your mum this year (this is definitely my pick as the packaging is so beautiful and they have 50 shades to choose from so you’re bound to find one you love!

Moving back onto eyes the Aerin Eyelight Concealer is a great product as it cools, hydrates and conceals which I know my mum would love (especially to combat those pesky Monday mornings – or any mornings for that matter! Another amazing product and new release would be the Estee Lauder Little Black Primer which can be used as a base underneath normal mascara to prime your lashes or it can be used to set lashes, just apply on top of your lashes and it helps the mascara to last longer and it’s also waterproof too. The perfect gift for Mum’s on the go that need their makeup to stay in place all day! If any of these products aren’t quite your Mum’s thing then one of my favourite places to shop for amazing, bargain pieces has to be eBay as there’s a huge variety! Failing that, head to a great department store such as House of FraserDebenhams or John Lewis as they cater for every need and will have lots of deals on in the run up to Mothers’ Day so always worth a look!

What will you be getting for your Mum this Sunday? Hope you’ve found some inspiration!
