Something a little different from me today as I’m venturing into the land of male grooming and hair style – I’ve been meaning to introduce some male content onto my blog (expects to see some future outfit posts starring Rob!) and thought this would be the perfect introduction. So, the GQ Men Of The Year Awards took place last week – although you may have noted it for how amazing Jourdan Dunn looked in that dress or Kim K making (another) risqué outfit choice. I thought it was time to shine some light on the men of the evening…
I’m looking at how these guys are rocking their hair during the awards and am looking at the top 5 hairstyles this summer…
The look that lets others know that the gentleman cares about his appearance without being too high maintenance, this look is my favourite of the five (mainly because it’s the style Rob usually rocks – very well I may add!) but I feel this is always a really ‘well put together’ look for any gent! David Gandy and Douglas Booth were both sporting this look for the awards (oooof, knew there was a reason I loved this style so much, haha!).
A style that is not reserved just for women any more, a good ponytail is a hot look for summer. Men with shoulder-length hair are especially capable of pulling this look off. Many of the hottest celebrities are rocking this look on the red carpet. I’ve seen a lot (and I mean a lot) of guys wearing this style for summer and I have to admit it’s my least favourite – unless it’s on Jared Leto then we can allow it.
The hipster look a.k.a the ‘bedhead’ look – I loved a tousled lock on any guy (with a spritz of surf spray no less). It’s a great look for guys if it’s executed well… no guys, you may not always roll out of bed and look like a model without styling your hair! I spotted this look on Robert Konjic who wore it well!
A wavy hair – a lot like the hipster/bed head look again is easy to wear and suits most guys as long as it’s styled well. Some guys opt for the slick back waves (no Joey Essex replications going on though please lads) or some opt for a more skater/surf wave which is a lot more natural and appealing to moi. John Bishop was sporting a wee curl to the awards, aww.
Short and Sweet
One of the hottest looks for summer is also one of the oldest trends: short cuts – a style that can’r really go wrong on any man!? My favourite male icons for a classic short cut have to be Jonathan Saunders and Christopher Bailey who are both very clean cut men who the style is suited to so well! This style also serves men who are losing their hair very well. HS Hair Clinic finds that many men who seek treatment to repair hair loss present themselves with almost shaved heads.
I hope you enjoyed my round up of the GQ awards – I look forward to embracing some more male content on le blog!
