The amazing pool!…
This is where we sat eat morning for breakfast – so perfect!…

This was by far the most amazing hotel that I have ever stayed in (and probably will ever stay in for that matter!) – just thought I’d clear that up to start with haha! So me and Rob checked into the Renaissance resort & spa in Phuket on the second week of our trip for two nights and have honestly never experience anything quite like it! We were welcomed with some drinks and was explained where we could find everything in the resort for our stay, we was then taken to our villa which we just couldn’t wrap our head around just how beautiful it was… we had our own private infinity pool and a bath tub that you could easily fit four people into, it was insane!

We arrived at the resort around 3pm so we spent the afternoon enjoying our infinity pool then showered and went in search for some dinner, we took a stroll along the beach and came across a little authentic Thai restaurant sat right by a lake which was lovely and romantic as they had fairy lights everywhere, it was also super cheap too which was a bonus! Once back in our room Rob crashed out on the huge bed and watched some films whilst I ran a hot bubble bath which was enjoyed with a glass of red wine and some down-time reading on my kindle… who said heaven wasn’t a place on earth?!

The next day we got up and headed for breakfast (you can see where we ate breakfast everyday – it was so tranquil and peaceful!). The range of food for breakfast was genuinely incredible! – everything from pancakes, to eggs Benedict’s, to fresh fruit smoothies, a cooked breakfast, pastries, waffles and the list goes on (seriously!) on the first morning I went for some pastries and muesli with fruit and green tea which was lovely! Naturally Rob stocked up on as much fried food, pancakes and chocolate that was acceptable at 10am (or not in some cases!). After breakfast I met with a member of the team from the hotel so I could see all the facilities that the hotel offered – from a gym, cafe, bar, to kids pool the resort had something for everyone. I also posted some snaps of the rooms from the main hotel (the resort consists of 150 hotel rooms and 20 villas) which were amazing and had beautiful views of the resort.

After my tour of the hotel I met Rob at the spa where we enjoyed a couples 90 minute ‘Choco bliss package’ – but more on that in a few days as I’m not quite done telling you how amazing the hotel was yet! After our spa treatments we headed down to the main pool where we grabbed some sunbeds and went for a dip, it was such a great time to stay at the hotel as it was ‘low season’ so there was hardly anyone around which was so nice. After spending the day reading, relaxing and swimming we headed in to get ready for the most amazing meal ever (I’ll also be blogging about that separately though so I won’t ruin the surprise now!).

On our second morning at breakfast I decided to have eggs Benedict’s with bacon which was just so yummy! Everything was cooked fresh and ready to order but I decided to settle on that (I think it was actually my first time trying it and I loved it!). As it was low season we were able to get a late check out  at 2pm so we spent the day enjoying our private infinity pool again and relaxing before we headed onto our next destination. The staff at the hotel were exceptional and went out of their way to cater for us, an hour after check in we received a phone call to see if we was happy with everything (how could we not be) and to see if there was anything we needed. As I said before I’ve never stayed anywhere quite like it and we genuinely cherished every moment of our stay as it was just a once in a lifetime oppurunity!

The hotel is situated in Mai Khao in Phuket which is a more quieter resort located near the airport, but lovely all the same. The hotel is located on the beach and is a short taxi ride away if you fancy going somewhere livelier, although we found a great little strip of restaurants nearby and the resort has everything you need so there is no real need to leave unless you have a day trip planned or want to take a boat trip to a nearby island. The resort is roughly 10 minutes from the airport which is great and only costs around £6 in a taxi to get you back there.

If you’re as blown away by the pictures as we were the hotel and want to experience the Renaissance hotel for yourself then check out the website here, if you are looking for an incredible romantic getaway then hands down this is the place for you!
