The amazing infinity pool
The pool house restaurant…
The Regency Club…
The spa (with a view)…
Our room (!!)…

Our first destination in Thailand was the beautiful Hyatt Regency hotel in Phuket where we spent two nights. When we arrived we were offered some welcome drinks while we checked in and then we were taken up to our rooms (where one of the staff carried our backpacks – this may not seem like a big deal but when you’ve been carrying it for ages it’s so nice when someone takes it off your hands for a while!) We also received a free upgrade to a club suite as it was low season and our room was incredible!! We had a giant bed, a freestanding bath tub (which caught my eye the second we entered the room) and also an amazing balcony with a sea-facing view.
It was so humid during lunchtime it was so lovely to have a nice room where we could go and chill out in for a while where it wasn’t 35+ degrees! As soon as we checked in we swapped our travel gear for swimming attire and heading straight for the infinity pool… which was just a dream! We spent the rest of the after lounging around the pool soaking up some sunshine before heading in to get ready for dinner. On our first night at the hotel we decided to eat at the poolside restaurant which had a full all-day menu but was a cheaper option to the high-flying restaurant that we enjoyed on the second night. On this particular night we were craving some comfort food so I had a mozarella, spinach & mushroom pizza (which was incredible) and Rob had a burger – I promise we did eat mostly Thai food during our trip haha!
During our first afternoon I was shown around the resort so I could get a good look (and snaps) of the spa, the main restaurant and then I discovered the Regency Club lounge… and then life wasn’t the same again haha! The club lounge was open to everyone who was staying in a club suite (and as we had been upgraded that included us… hurrah!), there was a private infinity pool with around 10 mosaic sunbeds built into the water (see picture above for this amazingness!). You could also enjoy use of soft drinks and refreshments such as fruit and pastries throughout the day free of charge and they also put on complimentary post-dinner cocktails between 5.30 and 7.30 – I know this place was actual heaven. So, you won’t be surprised when I tell you that this is where me and Rob spent our second day at the resort, we grabbed a sun lounger each and spent the day relaxing which was bliss (apart from I was just finishing reading the Book Thief and I couldn’t stop crying at the ending as it was just so sad!).
The second night we enjoyed dinner at the Sunset Grill restaurant restaurant where we enjoyed a beautiful 3 course meal – blog posts on that coming later so I won’t ruin the surprise for you all! The location of the hotel was set around a 5 minute bus journey from Kamala beach which you can get hourly from the hotel and it’s free so just pop into town or to the beach then head back to the hotel in the afternoon. We didn’t actually leave the resort as the hotel was so beautiful and we were only staying for two nights so we wanted to make the most of it and enjoy the facilities.
Last time we visited Phuket we stayed in Patong beach which is fun but so lively and always packed with holiday makers, so this time around we decided to try a different area and we ended up at Kamala beach. Although still a busy resort it was so much quiter than Patong and the beach/sunset was just incredible! Our overall stay at the hotel was amazing, the staff were all so helpful and really couldn’t help us enough throughout our stay. The rooms were above and beyond what I expected and the pools were just divine, I’d recommend this hotel to anyone as it really was an amazing stay!
If you’re planning on a trip to Phuket then I highly recommend that you check out the Hyatt Regency hotel in Phuket for an amazing stay!
