I’m trying to squeeze a couple of fashion and beauty posts into my #Thailandtravelseries so you aren’t too overwhelmed by my travel posts – although I’ve had such a great response to them and it’s so lovely to know that lots of you are finding them helpful if you are planning a trip to Thailand! So, kicking off my second beauty post (the first one was a ‘what’s in my beach bag’ which can you read here) is my holiday hero products, during my trip I posted a couple of snaps of my favourite beauty products that I was loving but thought I’d show you a full round up of the products that I couldn’t of gotten through my holiday without!
In terms of my hair it tends to get quite dry in the sun so I made sure I packed some hair treatments to restore a little goodness, I packed the Michael Van Clarke travel size pre-wash treatment which I would put on my hair in the morning and leave on all day then wash off in the evening – it protects your hair from the sun and leaves it feeling amazing! I was then applying the Bumble and bumble quenching masque every 2/3 days to put some moisture back into my hair to save it drying out, my hair is naturally oily so every couple of days worked well as I didn’t want to overdo it.
For my holiday makeup I love to keep it quite minimal, fresh and dewy looking so I was using either the Clarins skin perfecting BB cream with SPF 25 in shade ‘Medium’ or Liz Earle sheer skin tint with SPF 15 in ‘Beach’ which both give amazing coverage – I also chose them in warmer tones so they were the perfect shades for when I started to tan. I found myself using the Clarins opalescence face & blush powder every single day as it’s a really great bronzer, it’s quite light and can be built up gradually so it worked well for both at the beginning of my holiday when I needed a little glow and also when I had a tan at the end of the two weeks.
I was a huge fan of highlighter on holiday as I always think it looks lovely with a great tan so my staple products were either The Body Shop shimmer waves in ‘Apricot or a dab of SEVENTEEN cheek stamp blush in ‘The cheek of it’ along my cheekbones. The Clinique high impact waterproof mascara is perfect for holidays as sometimes if we went on a day trip I’d pop on a bit of mascara so I didn’t feel quite so bare faced and I had the reassurance that it would last all day without budging (even on boat trips… hurrah!)
My scent of the holiday was Marc Jacobs Daisy purse spray via Fragrance Direct – don’t you love it when a fragrance reminds you of a certain point in your life or event, well that’s what this perfume is for me! Ever since I’ve been back I’ve been wearing it to work and it reminds me of being on holiday which always puts a mile on my face! This fragrance is so light and summery which was great for my trip – the size is also perfect as I could just pop it in my bag or hand luggage.
I haven’t got into detail about all of these products but just highlighted a few key ones and how I used them throughout my trip – each and every product here was a real team player in terms of beauty when it came to my holiday and I couldn’t recommend them enough! What are your holiday hero products?
