Last weekend me and Rob took a little trip to the Amida Spa in Farnham which is around an hour and a half from us, it was quite nice having a little drive out though as we made the day of our spa trip. We arrived at the spa at around 11am and was greeted by the staff who were super helpful, we was then given a tour of the spa (honestly from the outside it doesn’t look all that much as it’s a part of the David Lloyd leisure centre) so I went in under the impression that it would be a couple of treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and pool.
Well… I couldn’t of been more wrong! The spa was huge and so luxurious it was lovely! They had 5, yes 5 separate saunas, all ranging at different temperatures – one was even in a log cabin outside which was really sweet. They has a steam room, relaxing hot beds, an outdoor pool & jacuzzi, an indoor infinity pool, as well as lots of rooms and areas where you can grab a sun bed and have a doze or read your book. After our tour we selected what we wanted for lunch from the menu then was whisked off for our treatment – a 25 minute massage which was so dreamy! Although not quite long enough for my liking as my back has been so painful lately, next time I’d opt for a longer massage to loosen my knots.
After our massage we had lunch, we both went for pesto pasta with mozzarella, tomatoes and chicken which was incredible! A lovely healthy lunch that was filling but still light so we could spend the afternoon swimming and enjoying the spa. Straight after lunch Rob headed for the outdoor pool, although it was heated it was freezing outside so I opted out and found a cosy spot by the pool where I could read my lunch, It’s so nice being able to lounge around in your dressing just relaxing all day! 🙂
We then enjoyed the steam/sauna rooms then finished the day off with a quick cheeky nap on the tiled hot beds (Rob decided that apparently we are going to have a couple of those in our house when we move out, slight wishful thinking?). The day overall was such a treat, it was so lovely to spend some quality time together in such beautiful surroundings and to fully relax. The spa itself was beautiful and I wouldn’t hesitate to ever go back as it was lovely, a little far from home but worth the drive all the same. Amida have six spas based around London and they have some great packages and offers on the website so be sure to check those out here.
Have you ever visited one of the Amida spa’s?
