SO… I TOOK A TRIP TO MULBERRY!

So this was probably the most amazing and also bizarre thing that happened to me in 2013!… I won a competition and bought a Mulberry bag! I know right?! – so let’s rewind and start from the beginning…

A few weeks ago I entered a competition that was hosted by Ann Summers called ‘Underneath the LBD’ – you can see my entry here. In a nutshell you had to select a set of lingerie from Ann Summers and a LBD of your choice and accessorise it, I dress mine up with a Lulu Guinness clutch, some Kurt Geiger heels, a Zara bracelet and some red YSL lippy. I absolutely love entering competitions and had so much fun putting this one together.

I really loved my entry but didn’t think too much of it. Then on the 19th of December a little email dropped into my inbox telling me that I had won the competition!!! I genuinely couldn’t believe it and was so ridiculously happy. My entry had been chosen by Suzy Cox – the Chief Executive of Ann Summers and the Deputy Editor of Cosmopolitan – which in itself is a complete honour!

The winning prize was £1,000 worth of vouchers.. you can imagine how excited I was. I have to admit this really did make my Christmas and it was so lovely to discover I’d won just before the big day too. So, I received £100 worth of Ann Summers vouchers (which I have bought some amazing underwear with) and £900 of Love2Shop vouchers which can be spent in tonnes of high street shops such as House of Fraser, River Island, Warehouse, Oasis and so many more!

I can’t explain to you how long I spent trying to decide on what to buy, I wanted to spend the money on one item that would be an investment rather than lots of bits that could easily be forgotten. I’ve wanted a Mulberry since forever and decided to finally take the plunge… by all means it was not an easy decision. Right up until the last minute I was still questioning whether I was making the right decision as it’s such a lot of money for a bag, but on the flipside I’d technically ‘won’ the bag so I went for it!

As soon as I was walking out of House of Fraser holding that paper bag I knew i’d made the right decision and I couldn’t stop smiling! I went for the medium lily in black as it’s such a classic bag that i’ll treasure forever and it’s not a ‘trend’ bag as such as you can’t go wrong with black.

So there we have it… the story of my first ever Mulberry, hope you enjoyed it!
