I’ve decided to put together a monthly blog post on my what’s in my makeup bag each month, it regularly changes so I thought it would be a great post to show you all. For everyday I use my staple pieces of makeup but on the weekend I love experimenting with more adventurous colours and brands.
I picked up this cute makeup bag the other day in the H&M sale for just £4 which I absolutely love – it also comes with a cute pink coin purse which is fab for nights out. In terms of my make up bag the Real Techniques buffing brush is a staple that I don’t think will ever leave my makeup bag as it’s just so amazing… me and my best friend were getting ready for a night out the other day and we honestly couldn’t remember what we did before this brush! I just can’t imagine using my fingers to apply foundation after using this brush now.
Lately I’ve been using the YSL Touche Eclat and it’s been a life saver, post Christmas/New Year my eyes are looking a little worse for wear with bags and what not so I’ve been using this everyday before applying my foundation. For foundation this month I’ve been loving this Kiko matte one, it has a really great finish and is not to heavy. I bought it recently when I visited the new store on Regent Street and I ended up purchasing quite a lot which I’ll be doing a haul on soon to show you all what I got.
I’ve been a huge fan of the Maybelline falsies mascara for quite a while now and I just re-purchased one the other day (nothing beats a fresh mascara!) and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint, I would say it’s my everyday go-to mascara right now. I’m really loving this Clinique brow pencil right now and also re-purchased this the other day as it’s not quite as heavy as brow powders but still leaves my brows beautifully defined.
I attended a beauty event for Pixi the other day and whilst looking around this gorgeous silky eye pencil really caught my eye. It’s a really dark plum shade – it’s not something I would usually go for for it’s great for defining my eyes or creating a smokey eye with and is a lovely shade for the last few winter months. This Loreal illuminating powder is incredible and a real show stopper for nights out as it gives a great glow, I’ve been using it along my brow and cheekbone.
Lastly, this YSL matte lipstick was a recent purchase with my Christmas money and it’s safe to say I’m in love. It’s a really beautiful shade sort of a bright pink/red and it goes on so well, it’s a matte lipstick and the texture is great and not too drying. It was £25 so quite pricey but it was a treat from my Christmas money, and every girl needs a bit of YSL in their life right?
