At the beginning of December me and my mum took a trip to the K West Hotel & Spafor her birthday, the hotel was located just a five minute walk from Westfield (slightly dangerous for my poo bank account). I took a half day at work and met my mum in central London for some pre birthday shopping on Oxford street, once we had full bags and sore feet we headed for the hotel to enjoy our experience...
Location: The hotel is about a 15/20 minute tube journey on the central line from Oxford Street to Shepherds Bush which was great as we were already in central London and we stayed on the same line so it was super easy to get to (and we didn't have to chop and change stations with all our shopping bags.. bonus!). The hotel is also located about a 5 minute walk from Westfield which is crammed full of amazing restaurants, bars and of course, shops which is great as you have so much choice.
Hotel: Once we arrived at the hotel itself it was a really impressive building, the interior was super clean and modern but in a comforting way (some hotels can be to modern it makes them feel empty and cold). Our room was amazing, we had a giant bed and even a copy of Harpers & some Toblerone waiting for us... the first thing I did was run a hot bath and took the Toblerone and magazine for some down time.. bliss!
Food: Once we had bathed, changed and got ready we were too relaxed to leave the hotel (there was also a borderline storm outside) so we decided to give the hotel bar and restaurant a try. We started at K Bar with happy hour two for one Cosmopolitans... when in London and all that jazz! Mum had never had one before and they were so strong, so we decided to head for dinner before we snoozed by the bar fireplace. I had thai green curry and mum had prawn linguini, the thai green curry was hands down the best I've ever had in the UK! Since me and Rob visited Thailand it's hard to find food that matches up to the standards but this meal really did top any I'd previously eaten.
The restaurant was also good value as each meal was around £9-£15, our whole meal including a couple of drinks and a shared starter & dessert came to around £55 which I though was really good value. In the morning we both went for a fry up before hitting the spa and the shops and that was equally as yummy.
Spa: On the Friday we spent the morning unwinding in the K spa which includes an amazing hydrotherapy pool, sauna, sanarium, steam room and London’s first Snow Paradise (slightly scary at first but I had a chesty cold and a few minutes in the snow room really helped to clear it up).
Overall: I really enjoyed our stay at K West and couldn't really find a fault with the experience at all, the location, rooms, food and spa were all amazing and we were made to feel so welcome. We had a lovely girly relaxed stay, it was just what we needed! I'd definitely go back to the hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in London.
Have you stayed at K West? I'd love to hear about your stay!
