Around a month ago I attended Brownstock festival which is held in Chelmsford, Essex. Only around 20 minutes from where I live so the perfect distance for a daytime summer festival! Me and my best friend attended and met up with some of our friends for the day, we couldn’t have been any luckier with the weather – as you can see by the pictures it was a scorcher of a day! This was just after the weather had been a bit hit and miss so we were so lucky!
Once we arrived we picked up an ice cold cider from the bar then had a walk around to check out the stools and see what the deal was. We then settled by the main stage, soaked up a few rays and listened to Deliah in the sunshine with some good friends… perfection!
We then went to the Treehouse stage and watched Youthclub play live – they are a local band that we know of and their performance was amazing!! I’ve only ever heard people talk about how good they were and I wasn’t sure if everyone was just hyping them up but it genuinely was a great act and we couldn’t sit down, the whole time we were bopping about (or drunkenly splashing our beer over everyone else, haha!)
Once the sun had set we headed back to the main stage to catch some Tom O’dell – who was incredible, his voice is just so dreamy! Following Tom was Pro Green who was also great live and really entertaining! To finish the night off we headed to the dance tent then left around half one although the festival was still in full swing!
I had a great time at Brownstock and couldn’t recommend it more! Every year they pull it out the bag with top artists, local bands and well known DJs! If you manage to get an earlybird ticket you’ll nab yourself one for just under £70 which is amazing considering thats for a weekend including camping. There is so much to do and some great acts to see it really is a great affordable weekend out!
I’ll definitely be attending next year as it’s the perfect local festival for me, I’ve been two years on the trot now and I’m yet to be disappointed! If your thinking of going next year be sure to bookmark the website and check out the line up! Website here.
