If you didn’t catch my last post on mine & Robs stay at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin, then you can do so here, we spent the first night of our trip here and loved our stay at the hotel!! We dined in the ‘Vox‘ restaurant which is in the hotel, it was such a lovely evening when we arrived and still warm so we decided to sit outside.
The chairs were quite low and slouchy so it was perfect to kick back, relax and enjoy our evening! Rob enjoyed a German beer whilst I had some amazing rose wine (obviously). Once we had ordered our drinks, we was brought out some warm bread and oil whilst we had a look over the menu.
Once we had ordered we was served an appetiser which was an avocado salad with yellow tail tuna, prawn and seabass. Now i’m not a lover of seafood, I don’t mind certain things but I don’t like it when it taste too fishy, crazy huh? However, this taster was perfect, all of the ingredients well so well together and it was a really light dish so it didn’t ruin our hunger for the main courses.
I decided against starters as it always fills me up and I never enjoy my main course as much, Rob decided to try the lobster. He’d never eaten lobster before and i’d never heard him go so quiet when he ate it!! He couldn’t believe how amazing it was, admittedly I tried some and it was the craziest explosion of taste in my mouth!! The lobster was served with tomato chutney, radish and vanilla oil which set the taste off perfectly.
For main course, I was indecisive about whether to choose beef or pasta, but then I realised that I always seem to choose pasta on a night out and went for the beef. The menu really sold the dish so well that Rob decided on the same main course. When the food came out it was so beautifully presented that I just had to Instagram a picture straight away!! Well, I really don’t know how to describe this meal, it was hands down the best meal i’ve ever eaten. ever! Me and Rob had never tried truffle before, we soon realised what the hype was all about… it was delicious!! The beef was cooked to perfection and the port wine mustard couldn’t have tasted any better with the beef if it tried!
After our main courses and several drinks later we was pretty full and decided to have a selection of sorbets for dessert, nothing too heavy and the flavours were heavenly!!
Overall, this meal was amazing, I really can’t put in words how much we enjoyed it! After this meal we both vowed that one day we would be rich so we could always live this lifestyle!! If you had it all the time you would take it for granted, but it’s restaurants like this that I would consider one of life’s treats, you just have to do it, you know?
Now i’ll stop rambling about how delicious it was (sorry if this post is making you hungry!), here are some snaps that I took of the meal and the restaurant…
