A couple of weeks back I was contacted by Money Supermarket to take part in the ‘What’s in your pocket challenge’ and I jumped at the chance. Money Supermarket were offering various bloggers £20 to spend in the most creative way that they could think of that would make them feel good whilst spending it.

The idea behind the challenge is to celebrate life’s little wins and to enjoy spending money that we weren’t expecting, like when you find that note crumpled up in your bag from a night out (it happens rarely but it has happened to me before!) then I get all excited on what I can spend it on as it was money I thought I didn’t have.

When I first accepted this challenge I was absolutely racking my brains on what to spend my money on as I wanted to do something that hadn’t already been done in the competition. Whilst on the phone to my boyfriend Rob, I told him about the competition and said ‘what’s the most creative way that I can spend £20?’ in which he replied… ‘well, you won’t get much with £20’.

And that was it!! Will a little bit of bargain hunting and shopping around there is a lot that you can buy with £20, due to the recession a lot of people are hard up on cash right now, being a student myself I always have to budget with my money so this challenge was really exciting for me, as I was quite shocked myself with just how much I bought!

So, with this £20 I wanted to show my readers just how much you can get, including some top beauty, fashion and home buys.

I stretched my money so far that it got me 20 things for £20, so here’s what I bought…

A huge thank you to Money Supermarket for selecting me to take part in this blogger challenge I had so much fun buying my 20 things for £20 – it really was a tough challenge in the end but I’m glad that I managed to complete it! 🙂

Money Supermarket conducted a survey that showed discovering a £20 note in an old pair of trousers or your top pocket is one of lifes ‘little wins’, they put together a short video on surprising people with money in their dry cleaning which is super cute! You can check it out here.

The chosen winner of this Money Supermarket competition will win a whopping £200!! If I won I would spend the money on a weekend away for me and my boyfriend to celebrate our 4 year anniversary which is coming up in July! 🙂 Good luck to everyone who has entered!! 🙂

Everything I bought here will be shared out amongst my friends and my mum just as a little thank you for all being so fab! It’s nice to treat the ones we love, even if it is only something small it can still make a difference!

I really hope that you have enjoyed this post and have been inspired to make your money last longer and shop around when it comes to beauty, fashion and home products as you can do it on a budget if you put your mind to it.
