Hi Lovelies! πŸ™‚
I came across this competition that Immediate PR were running on Twitter called Rough VS Smooth and decided to enter. At the first stage all you had to do was tweet if you prefer your hair rough or smooth.. easy enough? I tweeted rough as as much as I like sleek straight locks occasionally I much prefer my hair to be a bit messy with some volume.
Luckily I was selected as one of the 12 entrants to create a rough look with the OSIS + Rough Rubber that they sent me. I decided to create two hair styles as one requires a little more time and is more of an evening look whereas the side plait can be whipped up in 5 minutes and is great for everyday.
Here is how I created my looks…
The down style
(10-15 minutes)

1.) I had just washed my hair before I created this style so I blow dried my hair upside down to give it some more volume and run some OSIS + Rough Rubber through it so it would be easier to work with.
2.) I used the straighteners to curl parts of my hair, I then brushed through it so it didn’t look too styled and backcombed the roots gently.
3.) I took a section of my hair starting from my parting and plaited it and pinned it down. I then took a section of my hair and pinned it over the clips so it would disguise them and this added more volume to the look. (easier to see pinned section in the image from the back)
4.) I ran my fingers backwards over the plait so it wasn’t really neat and pulled small sections out. I then did a little more backcombing for some volume and applied some more OSIS + Rough Rubber to make sure the finished look stayed put! πŸ™‚
The up style
(5 minutes)

1.) I plaited my hair in a side braid and tied it with a hair band. I pinned any loose bits at the back, I’m currently trying to grow my layers out so this tends to happen quite a lot!
2.) I then held the plait at the bottom where the hair band was and ran my hands up to the top of the braid, then repeated this several times. This creates the messy look of the braid and stops it from being so neat. I used a tiny bit of OSIS + Rough Rubber whilst doing this to keep the braid in place.
3.) i then pulled out tiny bits from the side and back of the braid to rough it up a little and sealed it with some more OSIS + Rough Rubber and voila! πŸ™‚

‘OSIS + Rough Rubber is the first product with a unique rubber consistency that mattifies and roughens up the hair structure for long lasting looks. The rubber paste with its innovative consistency, gives the hair strong hold and a natural roughed up look with a matt finish. With it’s innovative Microsponge Technology, the formula easily lets you reshape the look anytime. Bees wax gives you a rough but non-sticky grip.’
I have to say this product smells amazing!! It held both of my styles in for a long duration and you couldn’t tell I had any product in my hair which I love about it.

I found inspiration for both of these images from the catwalks and celebrities. I love messy hairstyles and the best styles are always plaited! It’s just such an effortlessly chic look.
The winner of this competition wins 2 VIP to see Nikki Minaj at the 02 as well as a Β£50 Las Iguanas voucher for cocktails.. yummy
Good luck to all the other bloggers entering!! So excited to see everyones entries! πŸ™‚
