At the She Said Beauty launch I received my first piece of AKA cosmetics make up which was a black kohl eye liner, I tried out the product when I got home as i’d just run out of my previous eye liner.. handy, and loved the product!
I used it just above my eye and smudged it with my finger to give a grungy/ smokey look to my eyes. After using this eye liner I contacted AKA to tell them how much I loved their eye liner and they offered to send me some more products to test out which I was tres excited about! 🙂
In the post I received two lipsticks in shades; ‘Geisha’ and ‘L’amour,’ as well as a lovely nail polish in the shade ‘Bare all’ along with a ‘smokey eyes’ eye shadow quad set. I haven’t photography the eye shadow set as one of the quads must of smashed in the post, however I will be testing it out soon so look out for a review 🙂
I tested the nail varnish first as I love painting my nails- if you follow me on Instagram you will always see me posting pictures of my latest nail colour! I love this polish and the final shade was lovely, I received lots of comments on this polish from friends and also from Twitter & Instagram. The only thing with this polish is that it’s a little thin and I gave it three coats to achieve the shade pictured above- but as long as your patient it’s no biggie 🙂
I tried the lipsticks out at the same time, ‘L’amour’ – the pink shade is a little brighter than I would normally wear so I put a clear gloss over the top and I much preferred the outcome. I really loved ‘Geisha’ when I tried it on! – I’m actually wearing it out for dinner tonight 🙂 Truth be told, I’m not a massive lipstick fan and only ever used to wear lipgloss but since I got my make-up done at MAC for my birthday I have been on the hunt for the perfect shade! ‘Geisha’ isn’t normally a shade that I would go for but as soon as I tried it, I really loved it and felt that it suited my complexion.
I am really pleased with the outcome that all of these AKA cosmetics produced and would definitely recommend the brand to anyone that hasn’t tried them. They are very affordable with the nail varnishes costing just £5 and the lipsticks £7.50 which is what you would expect to pay for other high street brands in the likes of Boots and Superdrug.
