Hey beauts!!
Me and my boyfriend Rob have just booked flights for a 5 week trip to Thailand and I am SO EXCITED!
The point of this post wasn’t just to inform you all of my travels (as that would just be mean!) I wanted to ask for advice…
What on earth does a girl pack for 5 weeks?!!
We are planning on going to lots of temples and mountains in the north or Thailand and traveling to Cambodia/ Vietnam or Malaysia to so thinking practical shoes is a must! I have a trillion bikinis so thats not an issue, any tips on what to pack?
Also if anyone has been to Cambodia, Vietnam or Malaysia.. which one would you recommend if one stood out more than the other? I’ve heard Lankawi (Malaysia) is heaven on earth!
My friend recommended the lonely planet travel guide (pictures above) which I purchased the other day for a mere ยฃ8 from Amazon! This book will be our bible for the 5 weeks we are away!
If any of you have travelled this area, where is a must see? markets/ shopping, eating out, hotels & hostels? any advice good or bad I would love to hear from you as it will help plan my trip! ๐Ÿ™‚
How much should we plan on spending a day/taking for the trip? if anyone could enlighten me on this it would be a great help so we can estimate how much to take.
Anything else you feel I have forgotten then please let me know as I’m happy to hear all views ๐Ÿ™‚

ooo! if you haven't already you need to watch the film The Beach with Leo Dicaprio and then go and visit that beach in Thailand! It looks amazing!

    Have fun lovely!

My boyfriend just came back from Thailand, so this isn't from a personal experience, but I quite trust his taste…
The north is more culture and the south is more 'chilling on the beach and going to parties'.
In the north, he suggests you do the typical – elephant rides, kayaking, and going to visit the tigers. Go to the local villages for dinner and to get to know about the Thai culture. They are supposed to be so kind and welcoming.
The south is home of the Full Moon party, which is only for serious party lovers only. The island of Ko Phi Phi is said to be the most gorgeous, but go island hopping (via the small boats) and see it all.
I have also heard from various sources that renting a scooter and simply exploring is the only way to travel in the south, especially if you want to get away from the heavy tourism which seems to be everywhere at all times.
As for packing, pack light and easy. It isn't cold at all there, and bring as many swimsuits as possible! Also, if you have, bring a good pair of hiking sandals that are water proof!

    Hope this helps! xx

Hey! That must be so exciting! I went to Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore in August/September last year. I went to Krabi in Thailand, and was able to take a speed boat to where they filmed the movie The Beach (which was pretty cool). In the south of Thailand, check out Khao Sok if you can. It's heavenly.

I looove Malaysia. It's my favorite country in the world. I really loved going to Penang and Kuala Lumpur. I'm not sure what your itinerary is like, but I would highly recommend Penang. It's charming, laid back, and not as developed as Kuala Lumpur, so you can still find comfort in the city, but the place is full of character. Best thing to pack: cotton maxi dresses. They're great for the weather, and you'll always look good.

    I hope you have fun!!

Thank you so much for your advice girls! It's so nerve racking as I've never been 'traveling' before- or on holiday for longer than 2 weeks so it's nice to have some advice on where to go and what to pack! ๐Ÿ™‚ – If my boyfriend has anything to do with it i'll be packing 'extra light' as he's being really strict on me! lol.

Thanks for leaving your blog links lovelies! ๐Ÿ™‚ Checked them out and now following you back xxxx
