Five minutes with: Corrie from
Corrie is a well established beauty blogger (with a beautiful blog!) She has over 2,000 Youtube subscribers, and another 2,000 followers across various media platforms. was nominated for the Cosmo blog awards and Corrie was invited to the Look beauty launch last year.
I was fortunate enough to interview the lovely Corrie for a magazine article that I’m writing on bloggers as part of a university project and found her answers really inspiring! Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!…
My illustration of Corrie
1.) Where do you get your ideas
and inspiration from?
Usually I get inspired by other
blogs, I obviously don’t copy them but I was inspired in the first place when
starting my own blog by other blogs. I’m quite creative though and always
thinking of ideas for posts and I tend to have a notebook to write it all down
so I don’t forget!
2.) Do you intend to transform
blogging into a full time career upongraduation? If not, what would you like to
work as?
I would LOVE to have blogging as a
full time career, how amazing would that be? I love blogging so to be able to
do it for money would be fab, however I’m graduating in May so I doubt I’ll be
in the position to be able to turn my part time hobby into a job though we
never know eh? At the moment I’m leaning towards the world of beauty PR/social
media, I’d love to be behind the blog, facebook and twitter of a beauty brand
and to organise events for them.
3.) How did your blog get picked
up/ become so well known?
To be honest I still find my blog
quite little, I don’t know if that’s because I write it so I have a different
view, but I suppose it’s been through two years of hard work. I try to post as
often as I can and of course the Cosmo Blog Award nomination definitely helped
me out, I’ve had so many amazing opportunities after the cosmo blog awards so I
suppose that’s a main reason why it’s become more well known you could say.
4.) What is it that makes your
blog different from others so that people want to read it?
Hmm I’m not sure, I think it’s
because I write quite informally and like my blog to be like it’s your friend
talking to you about beauty products and not a stranger. I try to keep my
content fresh and different to other bloggers so maybe that’s why. To be honest
I’m not completely sure why anyone wants to read my waffle! Haha!
5.) Does it put a lot of pressure
on you to write knowing that so many people follow you/are interested in your
I’ve never really thought of it in
that way before, I sometimes have a bloggers block where I just have no
inspiration but instead of stressing myself out I just take a couple days break
and then blog again. I think that sometimes people appreciate that bloggers
have busy lives and don’t mind if a blogger posts every day or once a week. I
do try to post as often aspossible though 🙂
6.) What is the most difficult
situation that blogging has put you in?
I wouldn’t say I’ve ever been in a
difficult situation due to blogging, the only difficult bit is probably a few
bitchy comments, but with blogging you grow a thick skin and think of the
positives and delete the comments!
7.) What is the best freebie that
you’ve ever been given/ event that you’ve been invited to due to blogging?
Probably the Enrapture Heated Rollers
that I was sent to review, I know how expensive they were and I’ve always
wanted a set so was so grateful to be sent them! Event wise I loved the Look
Beauty launch as Look magazine is one of my favourites so to be within an
exclusive group of bloggers to see the launch before anyone else was really
good. When I started blogging I never even knew blogging events existed so I’d
never thought I’d be attending them one day!
Hope you are enjoying my blogger interviews! (I asked all four bloggers the same 7 questions)
Still to come: Lauren from and Olivia from in the next couple of weeks!
